Is it possible that you have your jpeg setting so low that you have lost resolution in that image.

It looks like one of the advanced filter effects is turned on.

    Have a look here: http://fujifilm-dsc.com/en/manual/x-t2_v21/taking_photo/filter/index.html

Anyone else has problems with the wifi in the X-T2 when I try to connect to my modem by looking up the available networks list. Nothing comes up and when you want to switch the camera off you can't, you have 2 take the battery out. I kinda gave up using wifi all together atm.

Ron -- when in auto on aperture, the camera chooses the correct aperture to make the exposure "correct."  to see the EVF darken or lighten, you turn the dial on the top at far right, the exposure compensation dial.  you will see the results in the EVF.

don't know why you were subject so such a snarky answer from the other person.

I also feel that something's wrong but this is my first Fuji. Please let me know if you find out what's happening. I will do the same.

I collected my XT2 last Friday and finally got a chance to try it out at a wartime weekend locally.

Alas only the option to try AFS but so far very pleased and the rendition does just seem a little better than from my XPro2 but hardly noticeable.

I got the grip with it and the camera and grip combined are smaller and lighter than my D810 body I traded in.............my shoulders and neck will thank me after a long day of shooting!

Ron, I have tried again after restarting the app, and when trying again clicked on connect and lo & behold the damn thing worked, but it did switch off the VF and the LCD screen. It then seemed to be locked up until I clicked disconnect and switching the camera off & on the VF + LCD and the camera appeared normal.

I suppose it is logical to turn the monitors off if you are operating the camera remotely?

Whilst the monitors were off all functions of the camera appeared to function properly! Plus I could also browse slot 1 and upload the pictures to my iPhone 6

Phew I hope that means it's now working OK

I need to lie down in a dark room and recover now.

    Hope that helps Ron!

Yes it's disappointing to say the least. In my case I think it is a camera problem, but I'm not sure as the app works OK with my X-T1

The x-t1 is an EXCELLENT camera, especially if you're a "Newbie."  Try to find one used, and take tons of photos over the next year. Then, if you feel you must, upgrade to XT2.  I'm a pro... have 2 xt-1s and a bunch of lenses.  I'm going to upgrade to the newer body because the larger files will in fact be welcome, especially when it comes to printing double-page magazine spreads, or cropping a vertical out of a horizontal (blame art directors for this, not me!).

You can put the money you save toward one of Fuji's super-sharp better lenses.

    my two cents!

If you are a person who absolutely has to have the "best," get the X-T2. You will regret anything else. Of course, the best will only be best until the next model comes out.

If you are just looking for an excellent camera, I'd recommend the X-T10, which is what I'm using (Along with an X-E2). Extra megapixels are fun to count when buying, but truthfully, any currently produced interchangeable lens camera on the market today can give you excellent results. Good lenses are the first place to put your money. They hold their value better than a camera body, which is basically a computer. There will be a faster, better one out in a year or two anyway.

I bought the X-Pro2, this spring, and sent it back. Couldn't justify the price. My prints didn't look any better. Yes, higher pixel count on the new cameras could be an advantage. But you will have to print really big to gain that. I recently printed a print at 16x24 inches from the X-E2 that I entered in a regional juried art show. It was the only photo in the event to win an award. (BTW, I came to Fuji from Nikon and sold a D800 to fund my purchase - my prints still look good). Don't print big? You only need 4 megapixels for any online use. Need to crop often? Buy a longer lens and learn to come close to your final crop in camera. That's what pros do. Except paparazzi, experts seldom count on cropping their shots.

Need to shoot video? Do you shoot it now? If not, then video is just an idea.

Need water-sealing? I live in the Pacific Northwest and shoot almost every day of the year. I've never had problems with a non-sealed camera. Keeping your camera dry is just a skill that's easily learned. A good camera bag should be enough for almost all situations. A bread bag and rubber band are my emergency "weather sealing."

The simple truth is that, as a beginner, you don't know what you want. You don't know your shooting style or even goals. You may think you do, but for 99% of people, those change as you gain experience. So, my general advice to people who ask if they should buy a top of the line camera is no. Get something you can grow with. When you really know how you shoot and what you shoot, then you don't have to ask anybody what camera to get. You'll know on your own. And if you get the X-T10 you'll have saved over half the price of a new X-T2.

My point was to point out that IMHO, probably very badly put that if you have the ability to purchase either an X-T2 or an X-T1 then it would in the long term pay dividends to go for the X-T2!

As soon as possible I'm voting with my wallet, because the toolbox is filling up with IMHO better tools!
That is not to say that other models will not produce super photos, OK.

In terms of future firmware updates and resale value, the X-T2 may be the safest bet indeed. But it's still a bet

In general, money is best spent on good glass and photography books, I always learned. The books advice may not be as valid anymore as in the past though.

You have a real chance not to get T2 before the trip. Sales are scheduled only. We cannot to see the future but we have seen various delays in past.

In such situation, I would go to the choice of T1/T10/E2/E2S range depend of personal points and actual availability at local shops.

The price of the X-T2 in the Netherland is still not determined, you are ordering it and then you will see exactly what you pay when it will become available in two months. This is as true of the camera body alone as it is in any combinations. It might very well become more if the Euro gets anymore hits against the US $.

The price difference between a barely used X-T1 and a X-T2 buys you a lot of Fuji glass and even a lot more Samyang glass.

Furthermore, what is there in 24Mp that isn’t in 16Mp?

My lab assures me they can print 2m x 1m professional quality from 16Mp, how big are your prints, if you print anything at all? There is nothing in 24Mp that makes is more “ future proof” it is only a larger number that appeals the feeling to ( It goes to 11) but means very little in itself.

Doesn't look nice, or doesn't handle nice?

If you want to save on the X-T1, keep an eye at the various outlets. That's how I managed to buy an X-T1 (demo, 24 months warranty, camera like new) for a bit less than €900 recently. That only works when you are not in a hurry to buy something, of course.

If you buy the best you can, and if its capabilities are greater then yours you can grow into it, what I'm saying is definitely buy the X-T2 if you can afford it
