  1. Thanks. Very useful. I've started using an Android tablet, which is similar.
  2. Just some casual shots using on-camera fill flash and the 55-200 XF Zoom. 1. 2. 3.
  3. I fear it is now only the age of foolishness and the season of darkness. Nice image, but I worry about the ominous clouds on the horizons of London and Paris. "Without religion, we'd have good people doing good things, and evil people doing evil things. But for good people to do evil things, that takes religion." Stephen Weinburg
  4. Big hands and/or a long term plan to invest in photography - xt2. Smaller hands and/or plan to stop at just the two lenses - xt20.
  5. Welcome, and nice, different looking flower images.
  6. The latest crop and ff sensors are so good now, the differences are more subjective or even imagined. Hence the divergent views from the experts in this thread, all of whom have impressive, hands-on experience. If size bothers you, then go medium format, as both ff and aps-c are small by comparison. But if you can get over the size hang-up, then go for the one that has the handling you prefer. And don't be fooled by the marketing term 'full frame'. It's no more 'full' than aps-c or micro four thirds, it's just an old standard based on 35mm film, which was considered to be compact when it replaced larger roll film.

    2 vs 1

Get the Xt2 and 18-55. The body is a significant upgrade on the xt1, especially focus ability. You will add extra lenses later when you decide what you need, and the body will keep you happy for several years. Also, the 18-55 is an excellent lens that will cover all needs except long telephoto. I also think extra lens are a distraction and an unnecessary additional variable when getting to know a new body. Take the 18-55 to its limits before you decide on your next lens (which will be prime by the way!). And final thought.... the 16-55 is just too big!
  8. Yes, I think motion blur is a factor at wide apertures. I don't think it's the movement itself causing the issues if over 1/60, but the slight chamge in focus distance. Even with my 35 f1.4, I need to use higher shutter speeds and concentrate of keeping the focus point steady. For the same reason, face detection is not accurate enough, and we tend to use small focus points ot manual with wide apertures.
  9. Very nice night portraits, with added sparkle.
  10. I understand now that ISO on digital cameras is really a simulation, but when using manual flash, the capability of using a 'virtual ND filter' just by turning the iso down to 50 would be handy.
  11. Excellent shots. The light looks nice to me.
  12. Perhaps the new Sony should be compared to the GFX50 and not the XT2? If price and sensor are irrelevant, why not? I'm impressed with tbe performance of the A7II, so the a9 will impress me more, but I'm just not keen on the handling of any Sony mirrorless bodies, so I can save some cash and stick with Fuji.
  13. Yes, my 27mm is permanently fitted to the X-M1 to make a great little everyday camera. A very versatile focal length and a sharp lens.

  15. First one with the car and backlit hair is amazing.
  16. Very nice. Really like the sunlight backlit hair and creative flare.
  17. And here's the real reason for the ban as mentioned in tbe CNN link: "Global hubs affected The new ban affects some of the largest airlines at the busiest hubs in the world" US airlines have been losing business to Emirates, Qatar and Turkish Airlines for years, now they've managed to inconvenience their passengers with a pointless 'security' measured based on 'trumped up' fears about terrorists who are apparently unable to figure that taking a connecting flight through Europe will get them around the ban.
  18. Hope it's true, and the timing makes sense. The X-E2 has been out long enough now for owners to consider an upgrade. Also the Pen F is selling well, so there's a market for a rangefinder style sister alongside the dslr style brothers.
  19. I don't think any micro 4/3 is going to be significantly better until there's a step change in sensor design. There will be incremental changes, mainly due to improvements in software, but for now size still matters.
  20. I've heard the same claims, particularly from Olympus OMD users, but I changed from my Lumix GX to Fuji for the bigger sensor (less noise and better control over DOF). Even just looking at the test shots on Dpreview shows noise issues over ISO 800 with micro 4/3. I'm sure one day micro 4/3 will have good high iso performance, but for now size matters.
  21. Micro 4/3 sensor and ISO 1250, I would expect this level of noise. I limit iso to 800 with my Lumix if I want to retain fine detail. With Fuji perhaps iso 3200 can be ok, unless you have the new medium format Fuji.
