The finest large areas of red rock in New Mexico are near Abiquiu.  These formations are along Hwy 84 about 10 miles north of the town.  The substrata and most of the rock are more than 200 million years old!

I have these fancy lenshoods for both the 16 1.4 and the 23 1.4 with Hoya protection filters on both(each is a slightly different model) on the 16, the fancy hood fits like a dream smooth as butter! Whilst the 23, the fit is quite tight.
 
It would seem that all filters are not equal with regard to outside diameter!

Took these just a cpl of days ago with the 35 f/2. Shot in velvia. Almost sooc, only slightly increased the WB (warmer).
