deepsun got a reaction from Adrenalinenova in Survey: Fuji X-T2 or Fuji X-Pro2?
Same. The X-Pro2 has been awesome and I've got my preorder in for the XT-2.

The only thing I can think of is to make sure you deleted the previous firmware download file before downloading the current one. If you didn't do that, your computer will append a "-1" or something to the current firmware and the camera won't recognize it.

deepsun got a reaction from tikinet in 10-24mm F4 OR 16mm F1.4?
I have the 16mm and it's probably my favorite lens out of the four primes I own. Excellent image quality and absolutely perfect for low-light situations where you want to tell the story and maintain a lot of context, namely at wedding receptions or high-energy events.
But, I would love to have the 10-24mm because I love shooting landscapes, get paid to shoot quite a bit of interior, architectural stuff and HATE having to change lenses when I'm either out in a windy, dusty environment or on the clock and feeling the pressure. The limitations of the 10-24mm that occur to me are 1) it being f/4, giving it a disadvantage for handheld low-light work 2) no weather sealing, keeping me on my toes if I'm out shooting landscapes in if-y weather.
But when considering how I intend to use it, I can imagine it being very useful. I shoot interior/architectural work on a tripod no matter what lens I'm using. I don't like using lights for interiors because my clients hire me for the natural look of my work, and no matter the lens, I'll shoot f/5.6-11 to keep things in focus. So the f/4 aperture isn't really an issue for either shooting situation. The lack of weather sealing wouldn't be a huge deal either. If the weather is inclement enough to potentially brick my non-weather sealed equipment, then I'm not going to enjoy being out there either, so things go back in the waterproof bag and I jet.
I'm planning to buy the 10-24mm, as well as keep the 16mm. They both do different things really well.
TL;DR Consider the type of shooting you do and if the benefits outweigh the cost.

deepsun got a reaction from paddy19 in Recommendations - XT2 Screen Protector
I just got Vello screen protectors for my wife's X-Pro2 and my pair of X-T2s. Even though it's listed as being for the X-T1, it fits perfectly since the screens are the same size. Totally worth $25.

Love the fit and it seems to be pretty resistant to oil.

I shot an entire event between AF-S and AF-C, both CH and CL, no freezing and no hiccups. I use SanDisk Extreme Pro cards.

I shoot freelance for The New York Times, and last weekend I brought my X-T2 to an assignment for the real estate section. (My photos are the house in Athens, TN)

The X-T2 did a stellar job. And, over the course of that assignment, I decided to sell my X-Pro2 so I could buy another X-T2. The bigger viewfinder on the X-T2 is a lot more comfortable to use as a glasses wearer.

deepsun got a reaction from Mike G in X-T2, where art thou?
I get that.
Got one last week and decided I liked the viewfinder (glasses wearer) better than my X-Pro2, so I've sold my X-Pro2 to buy another X-T2 and now we'll just have to see who gets it in stock.

deepsun got a reaction from Mike G in Survey: Fuji X-T2 or Fuji X-Pro2?
Coming back here to share my thoughts after a couple days of shooting (including an editorial shoot for the NYT) with the X-Pro2 and the X-T2 side-by-side. I wear glasses, and typically even wear them while shooting because it's less hassle in the morning, and more comfortable on long days, than putting in contacts. The X-Pro2 has been with me since March and I've absolutely loved it. About as soon as I put the X-T2 to my eye, I started questioning whether I would keep the X-Pro2. The bigger viewfinder on the X-T2 is much more comfortable for me to use wearing my glasses. When I have my contacts in, the difference in size isn't a huge deal. I love the rangefinder style of the X-Pro2, but my eye loves the viewfinder on the X-T2. Other than that, the only thing that makes me think I'd like to have another X-T2 is the tilting LCD. I never in my life thought I would say something like that. But I shot some real estate with the X-T2 on a tripod and tilting the LCD was a life saver when I was behind the camera in corner and couldn't bend down to the viewfinder, or to look at the LCD straight on.
Having a hard time thinking of compelling reasons to keep the X-Pro2. :-/

deepsun got a reaction from jasdav in XT-2 Preorders
Just out of curiosity, I wanted to start a thread where everyone can post about their preorders. I'll be curious as we get closer to late August/September who is receiving their order and from where. I placed my preorder last week from B&H, and today they changed the expected availability from mid-August to September.

deepsun got a reaction from SDonoho77 in X-Pro2 LCD Screen Flicker
Weird. Same here. Mine flickers about 2-3 times AFTER letting off the shutter button, not when I press it. But the issue seems to disappear/happen inconsistently at slower shutter speeds. And it changes whether I'm using auto shutter speed or setting it manually. As well, it seems to happen at any speed if I turn off exp/WB preview. How annoying...
