MikeG got a reaction from matsonfamily in X-T10 won't turn on
For fear of stating the obvious, is it *definitely* not turning on? I had a similar situation where I thought it wasn't turning on, but I had just inadvertently pressed the 'view mode' button (to the right of the EVF) with the effect of switching off the LCD; since then I keep it mainly in 'EVF only + eye sensor' mode. Again apologies if this is an exercise in teaching granny how to suck eggs, but sometimes the obvious can be overlooked.

Mike, did you try RAW Therapee? It's free and I like it better than LR5, which I sold.

Before this thread got hi-jacked the OP was asking about RAW processors. He's right LR 5.7.1 doesn't support X-T10 RAF's, as it came out just afterwards. Incidentally Photoshop CS6 does support it through ACR 9.1. I've never tried Irident, although I've heard good reports.

I use RawTheapee as my default processor and can't rate it highly enough. It's very powerful and specifically supports X-trans sensors. It can be a bit intimidating at first but stick with it and you get great results - I find the fine detail rendering and tonal subtlety I get is way better than Adobe. I sometimes save as an unsharpend TIFF and then selectively sharpen in Photoshop.

Another RAW processor I used with my Sony (before I saw the light!) was Capture One. It really made my Sony files pop but I wasn't as impressed with the results from my Fuji - your mileage may vary. You can download a trial of Capture One but it is quite processor intensive.

Lasty Silkypix works well as a quick and dirty processor with full compatibility with Fuji's film simulations. I found it a bit clumsy but it has it's fans and it's endorsed by Fuji.

No luck for me on that; I've tried importing a single RAF file from my X-T10 into Aperture (version 3.4.5, which seems to be the latest version of Aperture that I can run), the file imports BUT I get the "Unsupported Image Format" warning. Weirdly, the 'Info' tab on Aperture displays all the usual data there, but all of the controls on the 'Adjustments' tab are greyed out.

It looks like I'm going to have to go down the route of converting my Fuji RAW files to DNG in order to get Lightroom to handle them, with the option of using Iridient Developer or RawTherapee or darktable (or some other RAW converter) for those RAW files which I want to get the absolute best out of.

    Any alternative suggestions gratefully considered!

I apologise to MikeG, I'm afraid I jumped in far to quickly(bad habit of mine). I had thought my name was unique, bloody hell of course it isn't!

One day I would like to meet the other MikeG and buy him a beer and have a chat, who knows!

    Hardly.

No system can possibly equate Mike G to MikeG and refuse someone to register the second moniker if the first already exists.

    I have news.

If anyone comes around with the wish to register under Mike   G ( two spaces  in between) the system will create another identity, also mike g (lower case) will be, then another identity.

But the avatar of Mike G, I think, is pretty distinctive and I bet that the two of you look pretty different.

    Happy Days!

I just learned about this forum as a source for Fujifilm system information.  As I am well known in my part of the world as an old unfriendly person with essentially nothing to offer, you may at your pleasure ignore my posts and comments.  I am here to steal valuable information, learn to see, and become proficient with Fujifilm gear.

    OK, now you know.
