  1. So I finally got around to testing this lens today. Straight .jpg's.

    Barrel distortion is horrendous.

You should be able to click through to see full size files.

This first one wide open. The others between f8 and f16.

Overall result: Pretty disappointing. I won't be using it again, the Zonlai is far superior.

The Kaxinda 50mm f2.4 is another matter, it's good but too long for most of my work.

  2. Hi!

Any word on which one you like better? I'm more concerned about which one has better build quality and performance.

They're both pretty good for the price. Solid and quite compact.

Here's one from the 25 @1.8 (focus on the glass)

The 35 will focus down to one foot.

The 25 down to 7 inches.

  3. DOF is the same. The right hand image shows the OOF area slightly darker (slightly different angle of vue?).

As I've said elsewhere, I'm an image man. I have neither the time, patience or energy to argue such things, though there are plenty of gear-heads here to help you. I suggest you start a new thread on the subject.

    Cheers.

  4. I would say, in film, low iso and high iso film has different quality bokeh and different DOF.

In digital I would say, large and smaller sensor, lower and higher mpix on the same size sensor, gives different DOF bokeh. Try it.

You're so wrong. I've been "trying it" for over forty years.

    Please show us some examples.
