Having started out photography on a Pentax Super A, followed by a Nikon FM2, I then went over to digital with a Nikon D200 and found it way too cumbersome. Last year I sold off all my Nikon gear and bought into Fuji. I find this such a joy to use. It's like being back with the Super A (although not quiet as tough).

for me the beach-ball problem is solved:
I removed all the film simulation profiles from the ...\library\colorsync directory (I am on CO10 latest version)
put them in the app container as suggested by archidss, on 11 Jan 2017 - 8:03 PM (above here).
Also removed the extraneous spaces from the filenames, (left the numbers in place) and renamed the extension from icc to icm (so: FujiXPro2-1.Provia.icm)
restarted the computer, starting CO the first time took a bit longer. Profiles appeared in the recommend profile list and could be applied instantaneous, without any spinning beachball while using a large database (120k+ images, 180 GB)
after closing and restarting CO again I had a normal CO10 start-up time, profiles in the recommended list could be applied instantaneous without any spinning beachball.
Still in contact with Phase One on this.
Hans.

If you are trying to fill the frame with a bungalow for example, and shooting from the ground, you will get perspective distortion. It can be corrected in post processing of course. But if you want to minimize post processing and shoot jpg for example, using a 16mm and stand further away will give a more natural look. I am just speaking from personal experience of using this lens, and that is what the original post asked for .

I'm on the verge of buying one too but I'd like some advice from those of you who already have it.
Looking at the samples I found online (here, flickr, instagram, taobao listings) there seems to be an obvious problem with the corners at wide apertures. I can very well leave with soft corners at f/1.8...4 for such a small lens, but I'd like to know how it behaves at f/8 and f/11 in the corners.
By the way, there is a tab that seems to be stickable on one side and small enough not to cover the whole distance scale.

A lot of that comes down to processing techniques. The detail is there, if you're willing to go through the (hopefully temporary) hassle of getting to it. For instance, doing your initial detail processing in another program, like PhotoNinja, and exporting to a TIFF that you then continue to edit in your adobe suite as usual. Even without that step, simply removing all noise reduction and lens correction from Lightroom will bring back a lot of your detail. I'd post an example but I don't want to encroach on a wonderful thread.
I can't stop staring at the second photo in this post. Mostly because it reminds me of a very film looking photo from the late 90s maybe? Not the styling, or the girl, but just the way the image itself comes off the page. The way the detail is rendered. I love it. Can I ask what you're doing as far as lighting is concerned? Some of these look to be natural light (which you have an excellent eye for, in my opinion) but others look to be strobes, which I haven't seen many good systems for on the Fuji system. Please keep up the great work, and keep sharing!

Thank you for the profiles.
I moved to CaptureOne about a year ago after figuring out I like the editing workflow and final output better than other options.
I found your first set of profiles to be the missing key to getting the color I was looking for. It saved me a huge amount of time.
This second round is just brilliant.
Thank you for sharing with the community.
Sincerely,
Mark

After +10 years of running around with Canon 1D's I have lately found myself using Fujis more and more for concert photography with the reasons being:
+ quicker access to social media
+ less too carry = easier to move around in the photo-pit
+ live-preview of wildly changing white balance is quite nifty
- focus, still not good enough
- live-preview not quick enough if you are in the middle of a mosh-pit...arms/legs/crowdsurfers may suddenly be a lot closer than they appear
- fragile compared to 1D + L-lenses
Examples - so far so good...will be interesting to see how they cope with the outdoor summer festivals the coming months:

magnesi reacted to Dook in EVF only with LCD playback (XE2)
Hi to all of you!
I've just bought XE2 and I love it so far.
But, trying to find a way around the problem of Eye sensor activating EVF just a little to late, I opted for EVF only option(EVF on all the time). But, I still want to check my just taken pictures on LCD, using Playback button(I'm a DSLR user used to do this).I'm surprised that LCD is off completely with this option, I can't even review my pictures. I thought it would be off only for Live view.
Am I doing something wrong? Can this be changed it settings?
Thank you!

I use something similar to this:
http://www.thearmystore.co.uk/acatalog/Web_Haversack.html
With a padded insert you can pick up for about £5-6 on ebay
This takes ny X-e2 body with xf35 and and additional lens easily

Hi, you can either directly upload an image from this thread or if you have your pictures on something like flickr you need to insert the BBcode. This code is available as a method of sharing through the desktop version of flickr but unfortunately not on the ios version.
