Hawks leica helicoid. It does make a difference for close focusing. You will use it.

I'll wait until the camera is released and real world experiences are (pun) developed.  The pole vault video is rumored to be set up and staged with high powered LEDs that won't create banding/rolling shutter.  I won't believe much of either argument until the camera is released to the world.

As for any person that runs a site, they are free to spill whatever nonsense they choose.  The real people that have lost it, are the ones that will take one single person's internet statements as fact and base decisions on how to spend their money purely on that.

It's great camera, overkill for the masses and not for me, but someone will be happy with it....when the matching level of glass comes out too.

Here is Ken's (Angry Photographer) video on the "staged" A9 demo, make your own judgements:

I have both the leash and the slide lite.  I found that I use the leash more, more compact and packable.

The longer the lens the less magnification you get. Actually the 27mm works very well with the fuji 11 tube. Mag and working distance come into play as well. I don't own the 90mm, though

The weave can be learned through any different tutorial on making Paracord bracelets, just longer. Likely need at least 10ft of cord, don't make too tight of a braid, a camera strap needs to have some flexibility for comfort. There are Paracord bracelet length calculators on the net too takes me about 20min to make, a novice maybe 45.

I think you'll like it. I use lots of FD lenses on my Fuji and my leica m240. The 1.4 is fantastic.

Be prepared to buy at least 2 copies of the helios. Also pick up a spanner wrench which can be used to take many vintage lenses apart and clean the lens elements.

This might be one of the better explanation of the aperture tab....Lug. the st801 was an open aperture metering camera. The lug was to assist with metering calculation and did not require stop down metering like other slrs of the time.

"open aperture makes the M42 mount non standard. The EBC lenses will not be able to mount completely on some other makes because of the open-aperture metering lug on the back of the aperture ring. "

r_kt got a reaction from Curiojo in Has anyone used Leica lenses on X-T1?
Back when I had the XT1, i recall I liked using the 50mm summicron.  35mm and below you may experience some corner softness wide open, possible vignetting. I have nothing to prove that, just memory.

If you have Leica glass already, then adapt it!  If you are buying Leica glass just to use on your XT1, I wouldn't recommend the purchase just for that purpose only.

I dont think you can.  Hold down any function button for a few seconds, those are your only choices.  I dont believe there is some menu option I am missing.

I switch the AFL to AEL button, shoot AF-C and low burst mode.  my hand position would really be a the correct position for the d-pad or top Fn button

Okay, this isn't really a rant, but I think that there have to be SOME photographers out there who will agree with me. First, a little history:

I've never shot film. Never. Now, that doesn't count point-and-shoot stuff, but I've never developed film, or ever taken a fancy at SLR film cameras or have any history with film. Here is why I say this:

I don't have any nostalgia or affinity to whether or not fuji cameras seem like film cameras. I don't care. All I know is that I like the cameras. I don't have a long, drawn-out story about how I used to shoot old Hasselblads or Leica's back in the day, and how the look and feel of the fuji quality reminds me of film because, well, it doesn't. I don't have any good memories of film. I was never given a film camera by my dad when I was 5, and I don't have great memories of smelling developer or whatever those chemicals are. I personally can't even tell the difference (on a computer screen, at least) between images shot with film and images shot with digital.

Call me crazy, but I just like Fuji cameras. I just like the dials and controls better than nikon or canon DSLR's and I just like the quality of color and how well the files hold detail in the highlights and shadows. I just feel like every great photographer who is shooting Fuji these days has this really romantic story about how they used to shoot film and how it led them to Fuji cameras. You know what led me to Fuji X cameras? Nothing. I just like them. Sadly, not an amazing story, but hey, it's true.

Representing the San Francisco Bay Area,

I started at an early age on a gifted Canon AE-1 and was hooked for life.  Since then, traveled from film to digital to film and back again.  Old rangefinders are still my #1.  Alas, the cost of lab and home developing pushed me to digital in the early 2000's, and I bought the og Canon 300D (2003?!).

Forayed in various canon gear, until the X-E1 came out and was just blown away with the design (did I mentioned I love old rangefinders) and SOOC capabilities. Throw in weight savings and access to great glass and I immediately divested in Canon (no regrets).

Shooting digital has always made me yearn for film and I still shoot a Leica M6 and Ricoh GR1v from time to time when the budget allows for it.

My current kit is an X-T1 with 18-55 attached (14 and 23 in the bag) and a Sony A7 with a v2 35mm summicron (Jupiter 8 in the bag)

    Shooting experience: 15+ years
    Favorite focal length: 35mm
Favorite fuji lens: 23mm f/1.4 (14mm very close second)
    Favorite subject matter: street, travel
Currently trying to master: off camera lighting/flash

r_kt got a reaction from x-tc in Should I upgrade to an X-T1?
    Agreed on selected.

But given improvement in AF in low light as well as AF-C with the T line (assuming 4.0 really does make good on its claim) and given the OP's subject matter and lighting conditions, I would go with the X-T1.

Right now BH has the E2 for $699, that makes the decision more difficult.

If you need to update today, and money is a factor than I would say the T10 is the way to go ( I see it being a "faster", better low light and AF-C performer than the E2...today..or at least when the T10 is actually in the wild).

If you need to update today and money is no object than T1.

I never settle. Save up another paycheck or three and say "Fuji...take my money"

Also, the best point in deciding on a new body is that they come and go, you buy the best you can afford right now and in less than two years you'll do exactly the same.
