Milandro your link is to the new features guide only and not the full manual, when trying to save the web based full manual as a PDF only results in the 12 index pages only and not the full manual! which is what I'm after, web access is not always available so a stand alone PDF is important!

Maybe I'm being too impatient and it will come in time, a shame as Fuji is normally very good at supporting it's products.

The AF focus Release/Focus priority are to be found in the AF menu if you have it on release ( which I postulate you do) the camera will shoot before it has achieved focus.

    http://fujifilm-x.com/af/en/af_guide/point02.html

RELEASE/FOCUS PRIORITY RELEASE Shutter response is prioritized over focus. Pictures can be taken when the camera is not in focus. FOCUS Focus is prioritized over shutter response. Pictures can be only taken when the camera is in focus. In single mode you cant see all the ++++++ showing where you could focus during the shooting but you will of course see the shooting quadrangle if you have enabled it in the screen options..

I no longer have your lens but it was one of the first lenses that I have bought few years ago and I never had this problem

    However I never use :

    Pre-AF
    AF illuminator

Check if any of those options is also enabled that might slow down focussing and if you have “ release” enabled this might explain what you have

I too have been waiting for this lens for what seems like forever. Based on experience with the X-E3's waitlist at Adorama, I may not get it even weeks after the official US release date (30 Nov). Boo hoo!

(Of course, all the flowers are gone anyway. Great macro timing, Fuji!)

Well my friends I went and done it!

Some of you guys who have been here a while may recall my daughter "borrowed" my X-T1 and my "don't leave home without it lens" the Fuji 18-55.  For the last several months I've been photographing using my primes only -- the fabulous 16 f1.4, the 23 1.4, 35 1.4, and 60 2.4 plus the 55-200 zoom.  And I loved doing that.  I've truly enjoyed making images as I have to be slower, and more thoughtful in the process plus, let's face reality, the primes will always beat a zoom with regards to sharpness, and micro-contrast among other things.
However, the 18-55 is a lens I cannot live without!  I love it.  There I said it.  If I loved it any more I'd have to name it and provide it it's own ss number for tax purposes.
I do plan on continuing to use primes for most of my images as I really enjoyed using them and have weened myself off the zoom, but I will feel much better knowing my 18-55 is back in my bag just in case I need it!

To be completely honest:  I looked at the 16-55 2.8.  Many of you who "know me" know that I've said I would never purchase this lens, and it's brother the 50-140 2.8 due to 1) the weight  and 2) price.  I looked at the 16-55 2.8, i thought about it, but I just couldn't bring myself to purchase this heavy, and expensive lens when for a quarter of the price my 18-55 works wonders, is super tack sharp, and has provided me with YEARS of use -- my original 18-55 was the kit lens that came on my Fuji X-E1 I purchased back in February 2013!

This image below is one of over 16,000 images I have taken in various locations ranging from Key West, to Prince Edward Island in Northern Canada between mid-July, and early November.  I believe I "lost" the 18-55 to my daughter when I returned from the Keys and was prepping to head north -- this image was in fact taken with the 18-55 lens.

So, I'm now whole again and I couldn't be happier knowing it's there in case I need it.

PS:  Here in the Classifieds I'm offering for sale my Zeiss/Touit 12mm F2.8 lens.  Check it out if you are in the market for a wide-angle for your Fuji!

It is never a good idea to attribute a Fuji X-T2 with facilities found on other makes, they ain’t the same.

Manual focus at 1.4, shot from the hip and zero crop or orientation change in post!

A bit of a fluke perhaps but it was what I was aiming for!

I totally agree guys. I tried this one in Wex several months ago and it looked good, since then my uncle bought one and I ha e been looking at the reviews. I don’t think I’ll be disappointed either.
I think I’ve finally decided that for me, I will use primes below 50mm and zooms above that mark.

Fujifilm has an annoying (not) habit of bringing out fairly regular updates to its products, so an X-T2 with the latest updates is really a new camera compared to the first versions!

Never been to NY but I suspect the photo opportunities are virtually endless!

Edmond, you will not go wrong with an X-T2 and the 18-55 kit lens which the duo seems to be always on offer!

Where are you from,? it always helps to know this!

You will grow into the X-T2 and should last you for a long time!

Don't forget to get a spare battery.

    Last but not least enjoy.
