Is there any chance that the xt3 will be able to match the Sony A711’s continuous focus eye detection.
 
This is the only feature that would induce me to buy one, I have xt2’s

Hi,
Had a weekend shooting with my x-t2, 50-140 and 2x TC at Le Mans. My first sports application with the xt2. Loved the speed of it but I have one question.
It was very sunny, with the base iso of 200 (I was shooting raw +jpg so iso 100 didn't work) I was having problems slowing my shutter speed down to get background blur in the cars. If I went smaller than f/8 then my phase detect Af didn't work and it dropped down to contrast detection AF which wasn't fast enough to track the cars (I did try it).
 
Most dslrs will focus in with the lens wide open and then only shut the aperture down when the shot is taken. Is there a way to do this with the xt2? I'd be happy in mechanical shutter mode. I tried turning off exposure and wb preview but the lens still sat at its set aperture the whole time.
 
Any advice is appreciated. If it's not possible I'll invest in a couple of nd filters to allow me to do this.

I'm interested into that feature but we don't have enough information yet to get excited. I would like that this feature creates a DNG or TIFF to pursue development in LR or any other software.

If the program is able to use the camera engine to process the files into 16-bit TIFF files, I will be ecstatic!
 
Fuji does seem to know best how to process their own files for optimum results. The only issue so far is that if you want to do significant post processing, you will want access to 16bit data.
 
If Fuji supports this, it will be a huge step forward. Imagine getting the benefits of Fuji's understanding of images (very deep from decades producing lenses, cameras and film even before there was digital), combined with the well-developed film simulations while still maintaining the full bit-depth captured by the camera.

If Fuji were to make the minimum shutter speed lens dependent, can they gives us the option of choosing
the multiplication factor over the lens focal length.
Fixing it at the old fashioned way of 1 x focal length just does not work these days.
I always try to shoot hand held at 4 x focal length as certaing pros advocate and it works

I have been checking some specs, the xt2 charger output is 8.4v at 600ma.
 
The output from the ipads usb charger is 5v at 2.1 amps, I think I shall avoid using this device for charging.

I read that Rico recommends keeping the picture settings at highlights -2, shadows -2, together with the pro neg s profile. That should give you the closest to raw histogram.
