Saibot got a reaction from Alexander Mosquera in Jell-o Shots and X-T2
Well, it's kind of a long story, but a wayward Jell-o shot found it's way into the controls of my new X-T2. Although I was able to get most of it out and the shutter speed/photometery dials and moving again, the rear command dial is problematic. Any ideas how to get that out of there? I tried a cleaning patch soaked in water, but just can't get it in there, specifically the top side of the dial.
    Any ideas?

An easy way to rename the profiles and use them afterwards is as follows:

Copy the profiles in the Color Sync Folder (Mac)
Apply the desired profile to a picture taken with the selected camera (X-Pro2 for instance) from Base Characteristics/ICC Profiles/Fuji/XT-1
    Open the Advanced Color editor
Save as Icc profile giving a useful name (the correct camera name is already there)

The profiles saved in such a way will be immediately  available under Base Characteristics and a preview will be also available going with the mouse over the profile name.

The petebridgwood articles on sharpening are out of date at this point. I'm convinced that updates to LR have rendered the recommendations to crank the detail slider to be poor advice. It might have been relevant and helpful a year or two ago, but it doesn't work that way now. I wasted two months following those guidelines after I bought my X-T2 because that was all that I could find as far as recommendations on sharpening in LR, his page shows up in many threads. Like I said, it might have been a great solution before, but LR updates have changed that.

I'm favoring the Iridient X-Transformer solution using recommendations found here http://www.lightofisaac.com/Lifeofisaac/2017/January/January-31-2017. I actually have adjusted those recommendations where I use "smoother" instead of "more detailed" in Iridient X-Transformer, and I use a lower amount of sharpening and detail once I'm in Lightroom.

    Hello!

Here is a completely reworked, refined Set of ICC Profiles for Capture One, made for X-T1. It matches the In-Camera Filmsimulations much better than the original Set, which I posted last October here.

Another Set, made for X-Pro2, Incl. ACROS ICC Profiles, is also included in this post. I renamed them to have an alternative Option for my X-T1. These ICC are slightly different, Blacks & Shadows & Colors are more decent.

    Enjoy!

Granted I haven't gotten my paws on the 16 yet, the 14 has been a great little lens for me, fast and light. And at 14, it's the right tool for the job when I need that kind of focal length.

When I saw the light writing pictures posted with the 21/14, it remided me of this picture I took with my 14.

I know that we lump the 14 and 16 into the same category, but at the end of the focal length, there is quite a bit of difference. Sometimes you can't back up anymore, and the 14 *is* wider, so perhaps have both? The right tool for the job and all.

Just as an example, I'm not sure I'd like this image as much if it were taken with the 16.

Just a quick note about this picture. My daughter was frightend by a thunderstorm, so we hid from it under a blanket. I was surprised at how much light that little iPad was putting out and grabbed my camera to snap a picture of my thunder buddy.

In the meantime, perhaps Fuji will give us X-E2 zealots the v4 firmware. It really would give them/us time to decide what to do next. I'm not at all interested in the X-T10 "toy camera" and don't want to go back to the DSLR format of the X-T1. If a v4 increases the usability of my X-E2 then I really would have more loyalty to Fuji rather than looking for my next rangefinder format system and lenses. Heck, I'd even pay for it. Perhaps we need a Kickstarter project to fund it!

I hope they do make an XE3 - I don't see why they can't have an XT line (DSLR style) and an XE/X-Pro line (Rangefinder style).

Very disappointed that the X-E(n) series appears to be abondoned. If it doesn't pencil out for Fuji I understand, but I'll keep holding off buying a new body until I hear official news on it. I'd buy a X-E3 this instant if one were available, but I guess Fuji will have to keep dipping their toes in the low end market until they realize the high end is their niche. If I wanted a low end camera I'd use my iPhone. I assume Fuji's answer to the rangefinder format is the X-Pro2, but I don't want the OVF, the size, and ultimately the cost associated with it. For me, I want the X-Pro2’s features, control layout, and support of Fuji, just without the OVF and larger size. Sounds like a  perfect X-E3!

I don’t care for the X-T1’s controls or the DSLR format that I happily abandoned. Shooting an X-E1 was my introduction to Fuji and its minimalist layout and rangefinder format was just such a joy to use and I fell in love with photography all over again. I sold every piece of Canon kit I had and didn’t think twice about it. Since then I added the X-E2 and almost every lens in the lineup. It’s so small and unassuming that it lets me focus on my subjects, and the subjects with me.

I’m very conversational when shooting portraits, and not having some big ole DSLR blocking my face lets me interact with them to the point they almost forget they’re in a photo shoot. My portraits took a noticeable uptick in keepers when I went to the rangefinder.

I'd love to see Fuji do one of the following:
    Release the X-E3
If no X-E3, then hit the X-E2 with one last firmware update, the 4.0.
Release a X-Pro20 (basically the Pro without the OVF)

    My credit card awaits!

Well, money is not really the issue here. Ofcourse i was happy my x-e2 was not that expensive, but id gladly pay more for a smaller camera with xp2 feature set minus ovf than for the xp2 or xt2 themselves.
