Cfr got a reaction from Fujipixie in black and white (open thread)
took this down the road from my house, using a hoya r72 infrared filter. I stitched a few shots together to get this since i had on the 56mm at the time. the 56mm is not great with infrared and makes bright spots in the middle of the frame.. since it is a panoramic shot there are several light spots across the middle, which actually ended up helping the lighting of the shot as if i burned them in on purpose. I did some editing but looking at it cant remember what i did and what was a mistake.

took this one out by the salton sea east of LA. the wind was really whipping the dust and sand around but it was also making the great lines on the water. taken with the x100s handheld. i ran out of the car grabbed some shots and ran back with sand in my mouth and the smell of dead fish...  it can feel like your in a mad max kind of future out there

I have a soft spot for "well used" camera gears so after my X70 got it first "scratch"... Well now you know what happens next.

Well, the X-T2 got a joystick, shouldn't be a problem to glue a little 8-ball on there. And painting some fancy racing stripes across the body should doable, too.

I would of preffered "nitro engage" and a bright blue oversized led button. And a little stick shift on top to change drive modes.

Cfr got a reaction from yukosteel in XF 50-140 f2.8 zoom
I was having a lot of difficulty deciding on this lens or the 55-200, but one day found a 50-140 in great shape on Craigslist for $1100 and couldn't pass it up. If I didn't like it I could sell it and maybe even make a little bit extra cash. I hate variable aperture lenses so I knew I would really only be happy with this one in the end. One way I justified it was by reading about how common it was for landscape photographers to carry around full frame 70-200 f4 lenses, which this is similar in size. the added benefit of it being a f2.8 means it's that much better for portraits and low light situations. I do wish there was a 50-140 f4 for something even smaller, but that's probably many years to come. I got a lowepro lens case and strapped it to my day pack and honestly it is not that heavy. I'm even going to take it backpacking. It's only heavy and long relative to other Fuji lenses, but compact and light when compared to canon and Nikon f2.8 70-200. I love having the marked aperture ring and tripod foot. I'll only take this and the 16mm prime for landscapes/nature and trail portraits. Very happy
