I did see some sample from a user here some time ago.  He used a 1.4 extender with the extension tubes to obtain a 1:1.  Unfortunately the images are no longer showing.

Have you tried Iridient X-Transformer for Windows? It's like night and day. You really don't need to do anymore sharpening and you can use LR for everything else.

I bought into Fuji because they offer both small lenses that I use for my travels and fast, and if need be, large lenses for my professional work.  If Fuji where to stick to small, and slower lenses then I have no desire to stick with them anymore.

If Fuji saw no more need to make large lenses then they would not carry on making the 8-16 f2.8 when they have the 10-24mm f4 IOS lens available.  I'm sure we will still see the 30'ish f1.X lens in the future and for those that want it, like me, we'll pay for it.

So Fuji needs to make a 140-300 f2.8 similar to Sigma

The other nice thing about the 18-55mm is that you can get it cheap, mine was only $250.

Ken is an idiot and I won't click on his website so that he gets no ad revenue from me. I have said this before moving from Canon to Fuji.

wow, $1800? really?   Never mind looking at Fuji's track record... lets all just pull random number out of our behinds.    Since Fuji likes to mimic Leica, and the Leica SL $7500 so my guess is $7000!

You are wrong.  The Xpro1's release price is exactly the same as the Xpro2.    And I suspect the XT2's release price will be exactly the same at the XT1, $1299.

Ended up getting rid of two zooms.... the 10-24 and 18-55. First I soaked em in my bath tub to make sure they were clean, then I baseball batted the 10-24 through my neighbors front window (F**king line drive!) and the 18-55 went off the roof and landed right on my wife's car!

XF 18-55mm - 10 elements in 7 groups, including 2 aspheric and 3 ED (extra low dispersion) element
XC 16-55mm - 12 elements in 10 groups including 3 aspherical elements and 1 ED element

XF 50-200mm - 14 elements in 10 groups including 2 ED elements and 1 Super ED element
XC 50-230mm - 13 elements in 10 groups including 1 aspherical lens and 1 ED element

Now they might use some groups in the same lenses, but no all the same glass or they would be the same amount and type of elements.

Hey guys it's me again with another lens comparison test. Did a different one before: http://www.fuji-x-forum.com/topic/317-135mm-lens-comparison/

This time I compared three different 18mm lenses Fuji is offering.

    XF 18mm f/2 (X-E2)
    X70's 18,5mm f/2.8
    XF 18-55mm f/2.8-4 (X-E2)

The shots are unedited (fine L) Jpegs (SOOC). I just cropped them and stitched them together. The settings of each camera were set to default (0) except the WB (I adjust it manually with a white peace of paper). ISO 200. Provia. Aperture priority.
Cause I don't have a tripod that's so low I used a chair where I put the cameras on top so the frame can vary a bit. Sorry for that.
Click on each pictures to open and maybe download on Flickr in full resolution.
If you have any questions please ask. If you have any complaints about my test please be polite within your criticism. I'm not a pro so this test might be far away from being perfect.

Feel free to share some shots/comparisons of your 18mm Fuji lenses.

So now I hope you will enjoy my little CD collection
