  1. I ordered the RRS plate over the Kirk and I'll tell you why, the RRS's profile mirrors the entire base of the camera essentially extending the grip area following all the contours. One other thing I like is that they included a second threaded accessory hole opposite the grip. What this does is allow a balanced connection point for a swivel clip such as the Black Rapid has. I've owned both the Peak Design straps with their large clips and button dongles, I do like that the camera hangs in the same orientation with that system as there are two connection points. I do prefer the Black Rapid action and the RRS connection placement surprisingly keeps my rig hanging in the same orientation every time due to the offset receptacle (right below the focus mode dial)
  2. Hmmm not sure about the Sugru. I did find on one of my kitchen cabinets, little adhesive backed bumpers that work perfectly. I believe I'll order a sheet of black ones - 3.5-4mm in diameter as I'm not crazy about the clear. Thanks all!
  3. I use my Focus Assist button on my X-T1 a lot and want to raise it so it’s easier to feel. Has anyone experimented with any kind of stick on solutions, maybe micro peel and stick rubber feet or other suggestions?
  4. A couple more from the 300mm, handheld in daylight I set the shutter speed usually no lower than 500 and that hopefully keeps things pretty clear.
  5. Well, this will qualify as my official "second" post so here is my Nikkor 300mm 4.5 adapted X-T1 shot from my front porch about a week ago.
  6. This is my first post here so I thought I’d kick things off with a little bit about what led me (or back to) Fuji. I’m a gear head, owned everything from my first mirrorless, an Oly E-P1, to a Leice M9/50 Summilux and everything from everyone in-between. In occasional reviewing of my images in my Lightroom library, the ones that usually made me want to see what kit I shot with were surprisingly all Fuji, X-100, X-100s, X-Pro1, X-E1, & 2. I happened upon a nice used X-T1 w/kit lens and couldn’t pass it up. Now, about my post here, a few weeks later I came upon a nice 1958, it's an M mount with infinity focus lock Summaron M 35/3.5 35mm f/3.5 Goggle Version E39. It came without eyes, and I modified the infinity focus lock to not do that. I shot a bit as is and the accumulated haze from the 57 year old glass gave it a nice vintage look IQ wise. Being the adventurous type, I disassembled the lens and cleaned the elements. Now the glass and camera are inseparable. I do occasionally shoot an adapted Nikkor 300mm, mostly for wildlife and moonshots but my everyday is the Leica. I also needed a hood and they're very expensive and sort of rare so I popped down to my local camera shop and they had an old Leica swing-away polarizer with bad glass, removed that and voila, some useful shade. One before cleaning: One after:
