I thought this was about Steve loosing it? Well that actually happend a very long time ago already according to http://huffparanormal.com/ . Stopped reading his stuff after I discovered this..

And yes, the A9 is an impressive camera, but does that mean it invalidates the X-T2? I think not..

Sending in a camera because you did not read the manual? That seems like a very excessive measure..

voodooless got a reaction from huck222 in X-T2 AutoFocus very erratic on fine structures (trees)
Same issue here and it does not only apply to trees. Quite frankly I think insisting that a "real" landscape photographer should use manual focus is insulting to the camera If fuji claims fast and accurate focus, then it should be fast and accurate.

I've seem the focus being completely off, so much so that it was clearly visible in the EVF. The latest firmware does seem to fix this to an extend, but I still don't fully trust the AF, at least not when using a zoom lens.

ON1 can still have strange artifacts, and there is no automatic lens and aberration correction. I think they need a few more iterations before being really useful. At least they make progress, the others aren't doing that much.

voodooless reacted to kimcarsons in X-T2 filmic video footage
Yeah. Well, there are waaay more people on YouTube using Sony cameras for video than there are using Fuji period, so you're also looking at a rather small sample size.

The X-Pro2 and X-T2 produce excellent video with (at least) the following caveats:

    1) Fuji uses the wrong color range value in the metadata, so videos look too contrasty without forcing this value in the player. Correcting usually requires re-encoding the video.
    2) Autofocus is not very good (jerky, hunts a lot)
    3) No face detect in 4k mode
    4) Only up to 720P when using the wifi app
    5) Sometimes impossible to set the correct shutter angle. E.g. 1/48th of a second (try it!)
    7) Auto aperture is not continuous (even though the aperture is electronic, it adjusts in steps, which ruins the footage)
    8) Auto ISO is very slow to adapt to changes in lighting conditions
    9) Switching between stills and video requires changing many settings---not easy to do quickly
    10) No IBIS :-(

Many would consider lack of a log profile to be a problem, but I see so much footage on youtube absolutely ruined by poor color grading that I'm tempted to call it an asset.

Well, You can always argue about the money, but fact is that all new serious cameras have a fairly high price tag (Olympus anyone?).

I came from a X-E2, and do love the upgrade despite the few problems I have (which might even be lens related). The AF is much faster (accuracy could be better though), AF-C is actually usable. Image quality wise it's not that much of an upgrade, but we knew that already. I do like the ergonomics better, and the bigger EVF is also a plus. If you already have a X-T1, the upgrade might be a bit smaller. And with flash I do not have any problems up until now (Nissin i60a), just waiting for HSS update.

In the end, everyone has to choose for him- or herself.. you can always wait for a new Firmware. At leasst you know that the X-T2 will probably get some significant updates, the X-T1 won't. That's also factored into the price.

I agree. The joystick is not wothless at all, but I can imagine some people would like it to be a bit faster. 3 speeds would be cool!

Well, the german topic is actually very helpfull! Especially this post show exactly what I see In my topic.

I think this is a firmware issue and definitely not user or hardware related. Manual focus works flawlessly, so hardware in the lens is just fine. And user related? What user option would make the camera lie about having focus? That makes no sense at all.
