  1. Yes. I really like the lenses - I have several primes - they tend to be a little bit large and heavy, but that's an OK trade off for me. I haven't had any physical problems with bodies (X-T10, X-E2, X100S, X100T) but I think the way Fuji approaches body firmware is just nonsense. They release bodies with unfinished firmware, and then try to spin the deficiencies positive with the "kaizen love" silliness. It took what - almost 2 years? - for the XE-2 upgrade. Which is why I finally got the X-T10 so I could have decent focusing. The X100T never did get that upgrade. I put it back in the box quite a while ago, and there it sits. There is no excuse for this, all three of these bodies have the same internals related to these functions. I pre-ordered an X-T20, although I would rather have an X-E3 with that body form, but the future of the X-E3 is unknown other than wishful rumors. I am sure I will love the X-T20, especially with my favorite 14mm and 90mm lenses. But I am not sure how much I will actually end up using it, since in the meantime I have recently gotten a Canon M5 kit with the 18-150 lens. This is a terrific setup, and the ability to segment the touch screen and use it with the EVF without nose-focusing is brilliant. I also got the EF lens adapter and still have a bunch of Canon L lenses if I want to use those. This setup cost about the same as an X-T2 or X-Pro2 body alone. An X-E2 sits with the 14mm lens on it, for when I need something wider than the Canon 18mm, but that's about it for Fuji at this point. When the X-T20 arrives, it will probably replace the X-E2 in the sit-with-14mm on it role.
  2. I am very fond of all my Fuji system primes, but for me the Touit 35mm has that special Zeiss look - microcontrast or whatever you want to call it. The other one I find myself reaching for is the 14mm, even though I also have the Touit 12mm and Fuji 16mm and Fuji 35mm f/2. The 12mm is a technical triumph, very low distortion. The 16mm f/1.4, as we all know, is another technical triumph, and is a hoot to use for close-ups with shallow depth of field. But, like I said, the 14mm perspective and image quality both are a lot of fun for me. I don't have the Fuji 35mm f/1.4 since I got the Touit instead, so no comment on that. But the 14mm is of that first generation, too.
  3. I understand this plea, but as a hobbyist I personally I look at Fuji as a system that is terrific with lenses (I have a bunch of primes) but so-so with bodies. They have real problems with buggy firmware, which get passed off as "kaizen love" upgrades when obvious capabilities should have been included in the first place. Then the upgrades have issues, too. I have been tempted by the X-Pro2 and the X-T2 but I think they are overpriced and too large. The X-T2 with the gotta-have-it grip is IMHO pretty much the same size as an APS SLR. For me the point of mirrorless is relatively small and light. I am still using my X-T10 and X-E2, and waiting for new bodies in that size and weight range. I have also been waiting for an update to the X100T so it works the same as the T10 and E2, and meanwhile it sits un-used. Actually I am not waiting, I have pre-ordered the Canon M5, since I also have a Canon 6D system with L lenses. But it wasn't the M5's IBIS that helped me make that choice, since it doesn't matter to me one way or the other, but the X-T10 size and smart touchscreen and new 18-150 consumer zoom for every day casual use and EF adapter for the larger Canon lenses.
  4. I think people have a right to complain, although I think looking for a constructive solution is more useful. I don't think that complaining then gives one the right to insult others who are posting in the same thread, intending to share a different experience or other suggestion. serhatalkan, you are not behaving well in either this thread or the battery one, you are just sort of thrashing around with anger. Is there some type of positive outcome are you looking for? Complaining about one's right to complain seems pretty silly.
  5. That's good for X-T1 owners, but I wonder if those of us who own an X-E2, X-T10, or X100T will get any more Kaizen. (I own all three.) Same old same old or more love across the brand? One can only hope.
  6. I think we need to be realistic about the number of features or the camera will end up large, heavy, and even more expensive. So I will limit myself to deal breakers for me, with no disrespect to anyone. I do not want IBIS, and I do not want the complex combined ISO dial from the X-Pro2 - those are my deal breakers.
  7. I like the ISO dial the way it is/was on the other models prior to the X-Pro2. If you look at some of the reviews, especially if you get outside Fuji-fanboy-world, the combined dial seems to be the one feature that was not a very good design move and gets panned by the reviewers. Like the fashion pro Kai works with in his video featured on the Fuji Rumors site, for example. Personally, I think Fuji should use the feedback to go back to the ISO-only dial on the X-T2. Which I am waiting for in preference to the X-Pro2, together with a lot of other Fuji users according to that poll.
  8. @delmudo, cug maybe said it better than I did. I am not pouting like a spoiled child, I just end up not using the X100T. With the recent upgrade, I can finally pick up the XE-2 and the controls are now similar enough to the X-T10 that I can just go out and shoot with either one with no annoying psychological hassle. If I had an X-T1 it would be the same, too. I stopped using the X100T because the experience became too heavy on camera-control annoyance and too light on having a good time capturing images. The X100T, with the same guts inside it, now is in the same situation that the X-E2 was for such a long time - no "kaizen" love at all, and no reason why it shouldn't have the current set of features. I wish they would upgrade it to the current 16MP standard because I do miss its ability to fit in a coat pocket. Sure, it still takes nice pictures without the upgrade, but lots and lots of cameras take nice pictures.
  9. I bought, in order: an X-E2, X100S, X100T, and X-T10. The X100S turned out to be a step backwards from the X-E2 in usability, but Fuji announced they would not upgrade it any more at that time. So I bought an X100T (somewhat irritatedly). Fuji then went off and updated the X-T1 multiple times, but nothing for the X-E2 (more irritation). I finally gave up on the X-E2 and bought an X-T10 fairly recently for the current set of 16MP features, whereupon Fuji finally updated the X-E2 to also have that exact set of features after what, an 18 month wait? So I hope they do the same upgrade to the X100T, or I will probably never use it again, and it will go sit in a box just like my X100S. It's very frustrating to have three very similar expensive cameras in the same system with operating controls just different enough that you have to think about how to use them while trying to "capture the moment". At least two of the three are the same now, but the X100T is the odd man out. Sorry, don't give a hoot about ACROS. (Don't give a hoot about the X-Pro2, either, until the price comes down toward $1000 and they are through with the three or four firmware updates that X-T1 history indicates will be needed to get it sorted out and working right. I like the Fuji system, love the lenses, the JPEGs are terrific, but my experience with the body firmware - not so much.)
  10. Sure, the X-E2 is an OK camera, but at the original price it should have been much more than OK. Let us not forget how expensive the Fuji stuff is, and for how long the X-E2 has been down-priced. Moving on, one of the things I was scratching my head about in my original posts was how people were congratulating Fuji for their firmware updates, when based on my experience they aren't really all that great at firmware. Not terrible, but not great. Yesterday I got and installed the X-E2 firmware, and am glad to have it. While I was at it, I also installed the X-T10 update, since that is my every day camera at this point. The update file for the X-T10, at 60M is larger than the X-E2 update at 56M. Huh? "Does not compute." All Fuji says it is for is to limit the focus range on the 100-400 lens and improve the EVF eye sensor function. 60M for that? Why do I think they are being less than candid? And now the X-Pro2 is delayed for - probably - firmware reasons. Again, I am a Fuji fan, and use the cameras and lenses, but these sorts of shenanigans don't help my faith in the brand.
  11. Exactly. My thought process was: "The X-E2 has the same stuff inside it as the other 2nd generation high-end Fujis, and they promise Kaizen. Great! This Fuji gear is REALLY expensive for what you get, but not so much if they are going to support it so it stays current for more than 2 or 3 years..... Well, that first X-E2 upgrade helped the function buttons, but it disabled the wi-fi...... Ah, here comes the new X-T1 with the same stuff inside it, too, now we'll get an upgrade. What the heck?! Nothing?!..... Ah, here comes a major X-T1 upgrade, now they will finally put the same stuff out into the X-E2, I still don't understand why they didn't do that yet. What the heck? Again, nothing!..... And what is this - an "X-T10"? It has the upgrades in it, and in a few areas goes beyond the X-T1, too. So much for their bloody Kaizen, now I've got to buy this X-T10 camera to get the damn upgrade. And I'll have to wait for an X-E3 if I want my preferred form factor..... What the heck? Now they're upgrading the X-Pro?! Holy *hit, look at the price! And I like the smaller lighter form factor without the OVF." And then, to add insult to injury, NOW that I have bought the X-T10, NOW they will upgrade the X-E2! Very frustrating. Yes, it's a business. But if you ask me, they aren't running this aspect of it very well at all. Yet for some reason they are being praised for the way they run this aspect of it, which sure doesn't fit with my experience, as I have said.
  12. "The X-E2 is still a 2 years old camera, I still find it remarkable that they still try to improve the features." Marpar, no offence, but what I find remarkable is that they did NOT actually deliver the improved features a year and a half ago. The camera was perfectly capable of it then if it's capable of it now. Precisely my point.
  13. I'm sorry but kaizen schmaizen. I like my Fuji cameras, but I think they use their customers - us - as beta testers for incomplete software. For some reason this has been turned on its head as a feature rather than a liability. I ended up buying an X100T shortly after buying an X100S because Fuji simply announced shortly after I bought the S that they were done with X100S firmware updates and I wanted the better T usability. This was pretty annoying and basically cost me $1000. I was not tuned into "Fuji world" at the time and had no idea the X100T was coming shortly thereafter, since I was then and still am more tuned into "Canon world". Sooner or later I guess I will have to sell the X100S since I never use it. What a pain. Yes, Fuji had a widely available "roadmap" plan for introducing lenses - good for them. No, Fuji did not, and still doesn't, have a plan for either software upgrades or introducing bodies. More recently, I bought an X-T10 because I finally gave up on any upgrades to my X-E2 after months and months of uncertain waiting. Quite a bit more than a year if I remember right. Once again, I wanted the increased functionality. Sure enough, now the X-E2 is going to get an upgrade with most of the X-T10 features. The XT-10 is a fine camera, but basically another $1000 down the drain for it and the kit lens that came with it. Although it's a nice sharp convenient lens, I don't really need it since I have four primes. I will keep using either the X-T10 or the X-E2, but I really don't need both, since if I am being serious enough to want a spare body I bring a Canon 6D with USM lenses. (Extremely reputable and capable lenses, often cheaper than Fuji, too, but never mind, that's a different topic.) But deja vu all over again in terms of the Fuji software upgrade. I also hope this upgrade works - one of the earlier ones disabled the wi-fi function in the XE-2 for a while until another upgrade fixed the previous one. If I am not mistaken the recent X-T1 upgrades took a few tries, also. I don't want to sound like I dislike Fuji. All I am trying to say is maybe the Emperor really doesn't have as many new clothes as the PR makes out. I like the cameras for their small size, it is the mirrorless system I have chosen and gone with, the primes are spectacular, the JPEGs are very very nice, and I like how Fuji listens to their customers. But I think they are getting some marginally deserved praise and undeserved credit for Kaizen when what IMHO they really have is lousy firmware quality control.
