  1. Olympus Zuiko 100mm F2 or F2.8, 2.8 is small and I use Kippon adapter with no issue also the Kippon shift adapter is quite useful with 11mm shift.
  2. X-T1 backed up by X-E1 carry around X100S and an X-F1 as a night out camera.
  3. X-F1, X-100s, X-E1 & X-T1, Have just put an X-E2 in part ex for the X-T1, actually had more back than what I paid for it in the first place.
  4. As an X-100s and X-E1&2 user I'd go for the X-Pro body if only because the X-T1 to my mind is beaten hands down by the Olympus E-M1, results there is little if any difference to see on an A3+ print and as regards handling the X-T is like a brick with buttons and wheels, it is dreadful. My advice to Fuji is concentrate on what brought you back into the game.
  5. Hi Flysurfer, One point, I never said Fuji were abandoning the Rangefinder format, I said they were ending the X-E series but were continuing with the X-Pro and X-A/M series. As a minor point, like you I will be waiting for the Autumn upgrade for the X-E2 upgrade having just picked up a mint used example (user has moved to Olympus), am not waiting to see what Fuji will do for certain. If you are so close to Fuji perhaps you can answer one question for me. "Why has Fuji not provided certain 'upgrades' to the X100S to the general public, while it has given it to a favoured few?"
  6. Where do you get this idea from when the general consensus says the X-E series will be discontinued, X-E2 is the last of that line, X-Pro2 will be supported by X-A/M replacement in rangefinder style, alongside X-Tx and Txx series. Fuji are playing a dangerous game as things are, reps are informing dealers that X-E series is dead, now this could be to encourage buyers to clear up existing X-E2 stocks in readiness for an X-E3 release while in the meantime buyers might be looking to other manufacturers to upgrade or replace an ageing Fuji camera. As regards Fuji themselves they are as tight lipped as if their lips had been stitched together over it, there is absolutely no hint of an X-E3 in the near future or even next year coming, one of course hopes there will be with a new sensor, as for myself my X-E1 will have to satisfy until it dies, then I will have to see what is out there or go entirely with the E-M1 I also use, it is a better body than the T series for me.
  7. Just to tell you don't assume what a fellow photographer uses, I have never used a Canon (opted for an OM10 over the AE1 when I purchased my first serious camera), when I went digital it was still with Olympus (a 3020), then purchased a Nikon DSLR, sorry but cannot remember which model, it still has a nasty taste in my mouth, Nikon support and service is shite. I went back to Olympus, which I still use without issue, got into Fuji after purchasing a used X-F1 to carry about with me at work, was suitably impressed with the results from that little thing, enough so to encourage me to purchase the X-E1 with a few lenses, is it an improvement over my Oly's, not really it is different. When I need to get into the RAWs I am able to produce better images from the Olympus than the Fuji, Fuji Lenses are no better than the Oly's.
  8. Hi Michael, I notice you have avoided commenting on the fact that Fuji already has this work done and issued it out to at least one X100S user, so it really is pointless discussing this issue as there is no rational point in Fuji not making it available to all who desire it, I hardly think it will be a lost sale of an 100T to someone because they can get CC on their 100S, while it could mean many lost sales because they are holding out on one minor issue for no sensible reason. As a point of interest, I do not use Fuji RAW files as it is hardly worth the effort of using the converters available for their RAW files, to get a finished image which is hardly any better than the OOC jpegs, in many cases they are inferior and yes before you say anything, I know they are not Fuji items but in general third party programmes, apart from Silky Pix. We all know the main reason why manufacturers issue updates is to put things right that should arguably be correct before an item goes on sale, however this is not the case, almost every new camera released is done so as a Beta test to let the consumer find the flaws for them, in that sense few people have any complaints, however Fuji in their infinite wisdom decided to also include new items to the software, ie film emulations & focus peaking,no one asked them to do that in the beginning, they chose to do it themselves in the name of customer loyalty. I know some of the things that are asked for are ridiculous, like phase detection when the sensor is simply not capable, these are hardware issues, you want them then yes go purchase the new model but software issues, come on hardly worth Fuji turning around and losing the loyalty they were trying to encourage with Kaizen.
  9. Perhaps you are right MJH, but not according to a programmer I know who has looked into the programming for the Adobe equivalents, as long as there are is an existing choice of emulations there is no real reason why any extra ones can not be added, the basic code is already written. We are not talking of writing new code but simply using the existing code to create a new profiles. In any case it is not a secret that Fuji have already done this work and provided for at least one photographer out in the wild. So any argument readers have in defending Fuji in this matter is pointless as there is nothing to defend.
  10. Hi Guys, You might be interested to hear of an open secret, Classic Chrome and possibly some of the other upgrades in the 100T are there to be issued if Fuji were honest enough to do so. They produced a firmware upgrade (I believe before release of the 100T), which was given to the photographer Zack Arias at Dedpixel. I have no idea why they have not made it available to the buyers who keep them in business, perhaps they have a suicide in business idea, either way they are losing customers due to this decision.
  11. Why do so many people go on about having this and that emulation in Lightroom, what about some plugins for those of us who use PS???. Oh I forgot Fuji RAW is the joke in photography circles.
  12. Hi all. As a migrant from Olympus u43 I have a heap of Oly' gear which I still use (Bodies and Speedlights). I use Yongnuo (Transmitter RF-600TX, receiver RF-602RX x6), the receivers function with Oly FL50 and 50R units, Metz 48 AF-1 and Oly' T-32 units, all function perfectly well (bearing in mind all control is manual, best with multi light situations, in my mind). As stated I am a migrant from u43, so when I obtained my Fuji X-E1, I decided to give the Yongnuo / Olympus gear a test, everything works just fine, though again manual only use, will I consider the Fuji System, not really apart from a possible purchase of a Nissin i40 for travel use. Yongnuo, go for it and use the cash saved for extra speedlights.
  13. Ace, I beg to differ, the sensor has very little if anything to do with what film profiles are provided by any given camera. To provide Classic Chrome to X-E1, X Pro1, X100S and so on would need little more than inserting a new line of code, just as the existing lines for the different profiles already provided for, into the existing processors firmware (note firmware not hardware) with new values to equate to those required for the Classic Chrome profile, all you will see or experience is an extra line on the respective menu. As regards X Pro1 being replaced by X-T1 that is one of the most ridiculous comment I have ever read, the difference from Range-Finder to SLR is almost like fish or fowl, you only have to read how some people want one over the other. As for myself I came into the Fuji fold by picking up an X-F1 as a replacement for an aged Panasonic FX30 (which still works perfectly well), that encouraged me to get an X-E1 and more recently a used X100S (yes I would like the Classic Chrome profile for both those units). The E1 was a step into the dark in many ways for me having never used a Range-Finder before, I learned my photography with an old Praktica Nova slr, so have always used that form. Today the E1 is used alongside a pair of Olympus bodies (E-M1 & 5), what I would now like is an E3 which to my knowledge will not come, this from various tit-bits gleaned from reps I talk to at dealers and the dealers themselves, the general consensus being that X Pro2 will be the lead Range-Finder (when it comes), with the budget A/M body as introduction, E series will be no more. As regards X-T1, that is a body that interests me so little that without an E3 body I will dump Fuji, the T1 is a very good camera, which gives very good results, however those results are only marginally better than provided by the Olympus bodies, one could say good enough reason to go with T1, except the handling of the T1 is dreadful in comparison to the Olympus bodies, Fuji to me is Range-Finder, come on Fuji bring us a new X-E this year or early next before this Fuji user returns Full Time to Olympus and u43's. I have just remembered a point of interest, Classic Chrome is available for the X100S as Fuji gave it to Zach Arias for his 100S, this information is to be seen elsewhere on the net, I will publish a link if I can remember it.
  14. I sincerely hope you are correct Antony but that is not in keeping with the thought's of some Fuji main dealers who are of the opinion that XE will be no more after Fuji cease production of the XE-2. if they have not already done so.
  15. Personally I'd go for the mock up but then neither compares with the Olympus E-M1 or E-M5, both are far better designed bodies, I wish Fuji would concentrate on an X-E3 if there is to be one, general consensus says no, X-E2 is the end of that short lived but very good line. We even have to ask the question as to whether there will be an X-Pro 2 or is Fuji placing all it's eggs into the SLR format, a major mistake in my eyes. They got the Range-finder style spot on with X-Pro, backed it up with X-E, the near perfect pair, perfecting the format with each step forward, while Olympus and Panasonic failed to get right, for me. At the same time Olympus with the E-M's has the SLR style spot on, Fuji will chase that for a long time before catching them up, if ever. So please, please, please Fuji stick with the Range finder style, and don't forget what brought you back into the game.
  16. Not interested in X-T body whether top line single digit or dumb down double digit, prefer the handling of Olympus E-M1. What does interest me is this, will there be an X-E3, at present I use an X-E1 and as time has gone by I am debating whether to purchase the very attractively priced X-E2 or wait awhile longer. Perhaps Rico has an answer as the whether Fuji will continue with the X-E line or not, general consensus seems to be the X-E line has come to an end, this from talking to a few dealers who are of that opinion. Of course this could be dealer talk to dispose of current stock before a new model comes out but when the same story comes from numerous dealers one has to consider that as true. Has Fuji lost it's way and ready to abandon the range-finder style in favour of the SLR style of body. I certainly hope not as the Fuji SLR does not hold any appeal to me.
