I find that I use the camera in the simplest possible way even if I have 4 decades of experience under my belt, yet even people with proven limited wishes and abilities (again I am not referring to OP) seem to enjoy making the camera way more complicated that it needs to be.

So iSilentP, have you been to the DR in Punta Cana? I am going to the RIU bachata in Maimon around Puerto Plata, which is far away from Punta Cana but there you go. I am aware of the limited opportunities of the DR compared to other Caraibic islands but after enjoying Cuba for what it was I’ve also learned what the country can’t do in terms of hotels and hospitality. Where did you stay?

it is one of the best lenses that nikon ever made. Much more compact that it’s big brother 2.8, was much appreciated by people whom wanted to shoot with a lens lighter (and cheaper) than the that! The IF makes focussing relatively easy because you don’t have to rotate the barrel all that much. Of course this on a aps-c results in an angle even narrower than originally intended.

actually there is a way for some fora to block the message at the origin. Tapatalk is a paid app there is no base to impose this scurge to everyone who wants to use the app. There are other problems with tapatalk though Johan like we’ve experienced on SOTW where all of a sudden they(without telling the forum owner) have “ they said only temporarily” acquired all the private addresses of the members and sent them advertising (spam if you don’t ask for it). Which cause the app to be banned but now that that forum is been bought by a commercial company which does this as a job, Tapatalk is gonna be back.

Well, maybe part of the “ not good feeling” might be derived from the absurd lens hood. I have found an outstanding way around it. As for sharpness, there are few lenses which can rival with this. I have other lenses for the “ bokeh” if and when I want it ( which is not always) Sent from home with a great keyboard and a comfortably big screen! the 60 has much versatility and you will use it for close up photography as well as for portrait. As for adapting I have lots of adapted lenses and they all perform very well, lenses above the 1.4 to 1.2 are very soft fully open but as soon you stop them down to 2 or thereabout they are as sharp as a needle too.

I guess the mirror now is better than it was back then. in theory needs to be a “ first surface mirror” which is one without or with very little glass on top of the mirror surface. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/First_surface_mirror I used to have such mirrors that I got from a Pentax endoscope ages ago.

different people expect different things, and although I am all for cheap rather than expensive ( I really like the 50-230), the 16-50 is not at par with my copy of the 18-55 ( mande in China b.t.w.) This is actually very useful , a positionable velcro lens hood.

very good for action photography! It might have a purpose while filming sports , the wind being the worst of your problems.
