  1. so the kickstarter I spoke above seem to have had an epigone or it was successful, fact it that it is now for sale in shops https://www.cameranu.nl/nl/p1155945/lenspacks-voor-fujifilm-x-mount-rood?channable=a1235.MTE1NTk0NQ&utm_campaign=495&utm_medium=cpc&utm_term=Objectieven&utm_source=Marktplaats&utm_content=Lensdop+/+Bodydop
  2. if it were residue it wouldn’t have sharp edges also the shape of this would have changed in subsequent attempts ( wet, dry cycle)
  3. lots of Fuji lenses do this. it is normal.
  4. the Jack Rolling Satchel medium, actually fits a 17” laptop
  5. That is sadly not the case in the Netherlands or Europe
  6. I owned and returned the 16-55 I didn’t find it to be better than the 18-55
  7. not many do and not often I am happy to know your share my lucubrations
  8. why do you need to hook the camera with a cable? If you use a card reader and read the card with it, the pictures will be opened and recognized.
  9. very nice day indeed, shot against the sun ( I was a little unsure because this lens loses contrast easily this way) and in his own shade . I have to say that having been shooting for years and years on large format cameras ( 4” x 5” and 8” x 10’) taught me to take my time, shoot very little and do things in a methodic way. I have never used analog autofocus cameras and only one of my cameras had a motor so I am simply not used to “ spray and pray”. I also truly hate sieving through hundreds the same shot. I can remember a few occasions in which even with 4 x 5 I shot several shots because I couldn’t afford risking an expensive session ( hand model, stylists ...) but more often than not I shot 2 or 3 images. Had one developed to test and have a slight adjustment developing if I wasn’t happy. But with the processing possibilities of raw and the incredible performance at high ISO of modern cameras I have to say that I don’t care too much about that. But I realize that shooting for yourself is a great luxury. The thing is that at some point I realized that I first was a image creator and them I became a professional photographer, but that, in fact, I was interested in creating images, not necessarily in earning my daily bread with photography.
  10. the 18-55 is easily one of the sharpest lenses that I’ve ever used and mine, Chinese made ( again both are original Fuji ones) is as sharp as they may possibly come.
  11. Sorry, but It looks like you did damage the IR filter. They look like scratch marks ( they are very angular and there is a stripe too any liquid drying on it would have left round shaped patterns not so angular) The last possible resort is trying the gel (carefully use the correct one ) but I think that you might have to send this to have the IR filter replaced, in which case, before you do have it repaired, see how much it will cost.
  12. there are both made in japan and made in China. mine is made in China and is an outstanding lens. This pic was shot with it t
  13. yes, the dots are now firmly on the i’s where they belong. The British residents of Gibraltar , the Falklands , the channel islands and all the other places that aren’t formally in the UK ( but where the citizens have a British Passport) might not be eligible too. The exact definition of British Citizen or UK resident might indeed have different interpretations in this context. For the purpose of this discussion though, the SALES of the Fuji UK are limited to the people living in the United Kingdom. All the rest of the world is not eligible. I hope that is now clear.
  14. Mybe you can buy in the USA from Fuji USA or have a Canadian friend send the Canadian ( V neck alert) to you There are many types of Fuji T shirts sold on line around the whole world.
  15. I didn’t say they would refuse to sell abroad but you won’t get the cash back. The cash back SALES ( as in selling something for a temporary period at a reduced price) were always offered only to British residents. People residing outside of the UK don’t qualify. Follow this link please, there you’ll find the terms and conditions of the cashback sale https://fuji-promotions.com/gb/en/pages/cb-1016/terms TERMS & CONDITIONS PURCHASES MADE BETWEEN 13TH OCTOBER 2016 AND 31ST JANUARY 2017 Purchases must be made from qualifying retailers as shown on the Qualifying Retailers page. The promotion is open to residents of the UK only. Any claims for products from outside the UK will be deemed invalid. Only genuine qualifying Fujifilm products detailed on the Qualifying Products page are valid for this promotion.
  16. Fuji has a regional price policy, a sale in some part of the world wouldn’t necessarily be carried out everywhere. Fuji UK has had many sales that were limited only to British residents.

  18. well, if you have some friends in Canada they might re-ship it to you. Doing this , for me, would be pointless since shipping to Europe would be more expensive than the item itself
  19. Thanks, I am really happy with the results of this lens! It slows you down a lot in many ways but it helps with concentrating and in the end makes me feel more in touch with my “ craft" than other lenses or do. I get a similar feeling from anything manual, so all the other adapted lenses that I have give me that feeling too. There is a time for carefree shooting ( with autofocus lenses or the 12mm or 8mm which I don’t focus at all but shoot in hyperfocal at f8 ) and there is a time for careful and well thought work. I shoot very little per each subject and have never shot (if not by mistake) in continuous shooting even less ever since I have digital cameras. This shot above was one of two shots shot while my friend Peter and I were sitting by the river.
  20. I too received an email from Lomography introducing this kickstarter, but I am afraid that I won’t be pledging. I can’t see myself using this lens system. I can just see myself dropping these tiny lenses and them getting full of dust in my bag. It's too fiddly, offers only a lens with focal length between 35 and 80mm ( which would maybe make more sense on a larger sensor) and is not even cheap because it does nothing more than a zoom lens does, albeit the hipster lomography way. It reminds me of lens systems like the one of the Kodak Retina IIIc. That system never caught on for the same reason. They talk about “ other lenses” to add to the system and mention a 15mm , well the limitation of a system like this is precisely that It can never be used for short focal lenses. The stopless aperture ( finding your aperture , the same every time, will prove more complex that one anticipates) and the "drop in" effect patterned apertures are nice in theory but you will drop them on the floor rather than in the camera, in practice. Aside the “ cool” looks (debatable), the potential of dropping lens elements and apertures ( especially for me, I have some problems in holding small objects) is just too big. I don’t see the advantage over a zoom lens other than carrying all sorts of bits and pieces all exposed to dust collecting. I’d rather have a modern zoom lens but even a classic manual zoom lens will beat this in usability.
  21. Picturer, if you scroll the thread a little bit up this would be clearer to you. Forum member Adam Woodhouse says that the reason why this might be offerd at such a low price in Canada is because the V neck in Canada /Usa is seen as a "feminine cut”. I was amazed by such a thing and asked around and paid attention to see if anyone over here thinks the same of this particular fashion statement. I concluded that in the NL this is not the case. Then I found a video on you tube where American boys and girls discuss this thing, and, amazing though it seems, it appears to be true. There is a bias against the V neck in Canada and the US. I never knew that and I am somewhat puzzled by it hence my referring to this. I wan’t talking of your post but referring to another before of yours. Beige is also a color not ostracized in several countries of mainland Europe.
  22. V neck T shirts are normal shirts over here, although not many, indeed wear them with large print advertising companies. But this one is rather subtle. I have to say it is not really original. This other one ( round neck) is pretty popular amongst the other subculture I am part of.
  23. nice to know
  24. Just went out in the first warm and sunny evening in a very long time and I couldn’t help noticing how many young people over here wear V neck T shirts and , not, they didn’t wear sandals and socks.
