  1. Yes, cheap and light efficient, but that is about it. Using a lens like this, with 5 lenses only and no-stop continuous aperture, will be interesting for some but in reality few will ever use it at its maximum aperture although they may buy it for this reason ( by the way this reviewer says that the blades of the diaphragm aren't moving at all between 1.1. and 2). The very disappointing lack of contrast and definition of the corners at full aperture and the fringing makes this lens only usable for portraits only and very little else. You’d be better served by any vintage manual lens with an adapter some delivering 1.2 at no higher cost than this lens! The point of shooting pictures with a very open aperture is completely lost on me if and when it comes to the detriment of its optical features. The so called “ gain” for shooting at a higher shutter speed is totally lost in the fuzziness of the lens. “ technically it's very hard to asses the little Kamlan lens very positively “....
  2. yes, typo... , no 18-55 at full aperture ( at 55 is indeed 4) and that’s the result, anyway. Plenty of Bokeh at full aperture (2.8 at 18 and 4 at 55) another shot
  3. the 18-55 (at 55 and 2.8) is perfectly capable of very enhanced bokeh in these circumstance
  4. this is how to with an I-phone, I assume will work also on your phone albeit slightly differently. I used to have it in my emails of my samsung too, it took a little patience but now nobody gets emails from me being told which phone I use!
  5. Good luck, Fuji has shown many times to take these thinggs very much more seriously and act in a positive manner. While your fingers are waiting, perhaps you could use them to remove the tapatalk ad, thank you!
  6. well, I bought on line a X-E2 and a screen protector sold to fit the X_E2 ... and it did! So, yes, I suppose it is best to buy things that are actually advertised to fit a particular camera instead of attempting to find something that might fit (or like in your case doesn’t)
  7. no, never had that the only options are activation as the camera goes on and before your close it (either one or both). I have it on both and it works only that way. Are you sure you didn’t assign the cleaning function to the playback button? I have no idea of how this would happen but it might be possible. Maybe this video could help you understanding assigning functions.
  8. That’s simply because it comes from the US page, it will send it to Tokyo all the same
  9. No, if you fill that form goes directly to Tokyo “ This form sends your inquiry to Fujifilm headquarters in Japan." Contact Tokyo Headquarters the other link is for USA You should be able to turn it off in your Tapaptalk preferences “...Go to user profile (person icon at bottom right), click settings wheel at upper right, you can change notifications settings there."
  10. yes.... this ids the contact form for the Tokyo Head Office https://contact.fujifilm.com/cgi-bin/mail/form.cgi/contact_tokyo_headquarters please, I’d be grateful if you would consider disabling the tapatalk ad?
  11. you have your guarantee, depending on location this might still be valid and irrespective to this, unless you have done something to your camera which killed it, even past guarantee terms, no camera should “ die” , so you have recourse ( get in touch with the head office in Tokyo before you get in touch with your local importer whom might have a different view on this). Fuji is usually very good with things like this.
  12. there are experimental adapters trying to do this with contax and Fuji, maybe one day someone would make one for NIKON http://www.fujirumors.com/words-first-fujifilm-x-contax-n-smart-adapter-autofocus-electronic-aperture-control-canon-ef-possible-future/ Kipon makes a very expensive adapter with separate electrics to control Canon EF lenses. But for OP the Nikon g adapters should suffice
  13. There are special adapter for G lenses they control the aperture on the adapter itself. As for adapters conttolling electrical apertures, like for some canon lenses, they also exist, but they are very expensive.
  14. after the accountancy problems affecting Fuji , I am sure we won’t see any acquisition.
  15. If you really want to do something simple and quick to mount and dismount, quickly and at a very low cost get some polystyrene about 3 cm thick (they come in different sizes ). Pin it together with bamboo skewers and put a sheet of tracing paper of the appropriate size in front of it. This is how I learned (and made myself) to make portable window light banks when I was a stage (still) photographer for the cinema. I have taught many students to do these things when I taught studio photography. True these days these things ( soft boxes made in China with stand and lamps can cost as little as €150 a set of 3 ) cost very little compared to what they used to in my day.
  16. ...rapidly progressing towards the largest camera/lens arrangement out there to the point that the advantage of having a small sensor is absolutely nullified. chutzpah
  17. he has all the means to do it
  18. I suppose the only people who would be able to do this are the two administrators. Patrick FR and Andreas http://www.fuji-x-forum.com/user/10-patrick-fr/ http://www.fuji-x-forum.com/user/1-fx-admin/ They could merge the threads. You can start a private conversation with either of them asking for this. Personally I find that that is, in the long run, better for the visibility of your work.
  19. nice, you could have been keeping them together with your first post just adding to it. I am sure, in the long run, your pictures would have acquired more visibility that way than splitting them across three (or more) threads.
  20. It is no longer there (for 2 years now) or needed since May 2015 several firmware updates ago with version 4.0, after that it became automatic. http://www.fujifilm.com/news/n150511.html The firmware update introduces the Auto Macro function, which automatically switches the camera into the Macro mode while maintaining the conventional AF speed. You no longer have to press the Macro button to initiate a close-up shot. This update eliminates the Macro function assigned to the Macro Button, allowing you to assign a different function to the button. Also the type size that you need to type text on this forum needs not being so large
  21. I don’t know about compressed RAW but for RAW files you can use pixelmator (which I use on my Imac too but can be used on mobile devices). It is a great and cheap software equalling if not even surpassing much more expensive software. http://www.pixelmator.com/ios/
  22. Signature? I suppose you meant software. well, you are not the only one in the same boat, another member also reported a white bar on his X-T2 which caused the camera to be replaced and guess what, the second camera has that too! Now, this is again strange because one has to suppose that both, different, cameras had the same defect (which indeed might be a software problem but then many more people would have reported something similar) or that the only other common factor between camera, the operator, is doing this. Of course you understand that if this is the case, it would be next to impossible to find out for other people who don’t have this problem, because they obviously don’t do this.
  23. art is not the capability of making things look nice, but the capability making people reflect. The old director of the modern art museum of Amsterdam, Rudi Fuchs, used to say that : “ art must stink “ meaning that it should get to you and not leaving you unmoved. I think this gets to you and the news, unfortunately, show by how much.
  24. the weird this has to be that these happens on two different cameras, which has to make you think that it might be something that you do, unless all the cameras have this erratic behavior
