    Hi Everyone-

I emailed the sitemaster for Fuji Rumor to request a petition or poll, with the hopes of getting Fuji Corporate to work more closely with Adobe to improve raw file support. Rather than rephrasing, here is the email itself.  I'm curious if other users share the same frustrations and/or what you'd like to see most from Fuji / Adobe for improved raw file handling.

I'm wondering if FujiRumors could petition Fuji Corporate to work directly with Adobe to improve raw file conversions.  While I enjoyed the baked-in film simulations for jpegs, I miss the freedom of raw control and I'm particularly frustrated with the lack of lens corrections in ACR / LR. They say the corrections are build into the lens firmware - however I've tested converted raw files vs jpegs - they jpegs have distortion and vignetting correction applied, and in ACR there is no automated equivalent.    Back to the petition, there are four issues that need to be addressed: Useless Sidecar Files - Fuji, please have the camera-generated sidecar file contain the "as shot" film profile. End goal: When the user opens the file in ACR or LR, it should look identical to the JPEG. (Without having to apply it via additional steps). Film Profiles - Fuji, please provide the actual profiles to Adobe.  In-Camera Velvia and ACR-Applied Velvia are not the same. This is endlessly disappointing and frustrating. Lens Profiles - Fuji, please provide profiles to Adobe (like Canon and Nikon have!) so users can easily correct for distortion and vignetting.  Dynamic Range - Sidecar files should contain adjustments so DR200/400 files were automatically adjusted to match their JPEG brethren.  If Fuji is serious about pursuing working professionals and more advanced hobbyists - then they need to come to terms with the importance of working with Adobe.  They've created great hardware and film profiles that everyone enjoys, however the concept is completely crippled with the limited support for ACR/LR and limited use of sidecar file data to adjust film, lens and dynamic range profile information.

I just got the 16mm in the mail yesterday and haven't had the time to test it properly.
But I tried it briefly just to try out the close focus part. Not a portrait lens exactly, but really fun to use.

This example is shot wide open. Her right eyebrow is in focus - I aimed for the eye... So you get a narrow DOF even with this wide angle lens if you go close.

I don´t find the focus speed an issue with the 16mm.
I am going to France in a week - visiting the beaches and cemeteries in Normandie, If I only could bring one lens with me it would be the sweet 16. No doubt.

(The only thing that bothers me is that Fuji does not deliver the lens with the LH XF16 lens hood as standard. Why would they leave that out on such a premium lens?)

Yeah, writing me a personal message telling me how stupid I am and then not replying to my answer but instead writing another post about how stupid I am. What's wrong with you?

It seems you didn't see the smiley I wrote and instead felt personally attacked by me being "schoolmasterly". But since you then decided to teach me I'll let you have that fun. But don't embarrass yourself. Homophones are words that are pronounced the same (as the Greek meaning clearly implies). Some people might pronounce "fred" the same as "thread" but that is as far from being correct as you are from being a humble person. You can have fun playing with your language as much as you like but don't spread incorrect stuff here pretending to be something better.

Now let's get back to the topic.

Hello all, I am a new member on this forum

My name is Eirik Berger and I live in Longyearbyen on the Arctic archipelago Spitsbergen in the North Atlantic.

    I recently purchased a Fuji X-T10 with the 18-55mm f/2,8-4 lens. Why?
I have used Canon full frame DSLR for years, but I have for some time wanted a smaller system for travel, landscape and family pictures ( I have three small children). I know the top quality of Fuji lenses as I have worked with large format (4x5" and 8x10") photography for years. And I love the way the Fuji X-cameras look, so does my wife (that always helps).

The 18-55 is the best quality kit lens I have ever had, I love the all-metal construction. I just wish the hoods also were metal like the Zeiss lenses of my good old Contax cameras. I have just ordered the XF 50-140 f/2,8 and will also order a wide angle prime lens. I have not decided on which one, but the XF14mm and the Zeiss Touit 12mm looks great. My wife wants the XF27mm for its small size.

It is completely dark here 24 hours a day right now, but when the light returns I will share photos and experiences with my Fuji X-system.

    Take care.

    Eirik
