Vladimir reacted to GilBarib in Fuji-X Sport: Ice Canoe Racing
Hi All !
This is a classic here during the Winter Carnaval, this sport is very specific to the St-Lawrence River and it's history, I don't think there is any other place where you can see something like it. This really active and dynamic sport is very demanding for the athletes, in this race the pro class will do a total of 15 km, crossing the river three time. During the winter there is a total of 7 races along the St-Lawrence River, and lucky me, two of them are in my home town, Quebec City.
Not much ice on the river this year made it easy and fast for the "canoteurs", but it was less spectacular for us the spectators and photographers. Never the less it was a great opportunity for some good action shot.
Here's a link to the Wikipedia article about the sport: Ice canoeing - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
I used mostly my X-T1 with the Xf50-140mm + XF1.4 TC and a second body, my good old X-E1, paired with the XF16-55 for close shoot. I was standing right by one of the three buoys delimiting the race course, so it was easy to get some shots of the canoes coming toward me.

Vladimir reacted to GilBarib in Fuji-X Sport: Baja SAE Endurance Racing
Hi again!
Here is a few pics from l'Épreuve du Nord, a SAE mini-Baja endurance race. The Engineering Department at Laval University has been hosting the northernmost race in the circuit for the last 11 years, it's also the only one to take place in the snow !
It's the second time that I get a chance to shoot this really amazing and gruesome 2 hours event, out of the 27 Bajas on the starting line only 14 will make it to the end!

Vladimir reacted to 9.V.III in Should the X-T2 Have an Integrated Battery Grip?
And integrated grip doesn't have to change the size overall. I'm confident 90% of people would love to have a second shutter button on a compact camera, but this thread wasn't specifically about that concept. It's good to see the user base here is united on the subject of body size,

Vladimir reacted to Tom in X-T1 Firmware 4.20 SUSPENDED
Guess I'll take the risk and stay with 4.20. Don't use AF-C very often. And if removing the battery solves the freeze it's fine.

Vladimir reacted to Larry Bolch in Fuji Fisheye
Not my first fisheye, so I think it will continue getting considerable use. The reason, is that I am not using it to shoot typical "fisheye" shots, but much more as a superwide or panoramic lens that has curvature which I don't emphasize. I have tested it using the X-Pro1's sweep panorama, and stitching worked! I have also tested stitching in the new version of Adobe Camera RAW with dramatic results.
I find it does very nice interiors with all four walls, when shooting from a corner. Landscapes are quite dramatic as well. Photoshop CC has tools that can pretty much straighten everything, but for the most part, I don't bother.

Vladimir reacted to luismanibarro in Fuji Flash delayed to first half of 2016 (New Source)
They ought at least let the camera shoot external flashes in burst mode, that's all I need, who cares about a fancy flash if they simply can not supply a basic professional feature.

Vladimir reacted to wildcart in Profoto and Fuji X series
I use the Profoto B1 with my X-T1 and 2 PocketWizards Plus III. Works fine.
But please Fuji talk to Profoto and let them make a TTL remote for Fuji cameras!

Vladimir got a reaction from lmirante in Question regarding flash sync speed on X-T1
You are not missing anything. At 180/1" manufacturer guarantees (or at least has to ) no issue with synchronization. On most cameras it's can be higher where black bar start appearing. As well it depends on the triggering system you use and the chain of them (pocket wizard activates younguo which activates Cactus). My XT1 works 90% at 1/200" with my Canon's 600EX and Profoto's. And sometime the bar is very slim and its easy to crop
