    Introduce Yourself

Hi, I'm Aniruddh from New Delhi, India. New to the world of videography/photography and i just bought a fujifilm xt-200 with a kit lens (XC15-45mm/f3.5-5.6 OIS PZ) to get started. I have been trying to shoot video and needed some help from experienced users so posting my question here. What is the difference between shooting video with the dedicated movie mode or by using the video record button in any of the other modes (P,S,A,M)? I have noticed that while shooting video in M mode, the camera is using the movie ISO setting rather than the ISO set by me in the M mode. This leads me to wonder whether the other settings (aperture & shutter speed) made by me in M mode are being used at all? Also, is there a way to check manual focus in movie mode by zooming into the subject? Somehow, I'm able to do this in M mode but not in movie mode. Appreciate any help that i can get. Thanks

    Introduce Yourself

New here but a Fuji X user since shortly after the X-Pro1 was introduced - really enjoy them and look to expanding my Fuji system - ha! more than buying batteries for the two bodies. Still have an extensive Canon DSLR system but find myself carrying the X-Pro1, X-Pro2, the 23 1.4 and 56 1.2 primes plus a pocket full of batteries everywhere I go. Also, I often adapt some of my Canon glass to the X's and even a couple Nikkor lenses left over from my film days - nice that the Nikkors have aperture rings. I can pull out my go to Canon bodies, the 5D MIIIs and the long glass when I need to. At age 65 and not as fit as I once was, this system works for what I mostly do now - documenting the comings and goings here in my hometown in South Carolina, my family and travels. I look forward to becoming more involved with the online Fuji family. Steve York, SC

    Introduce Yourself

Hello! Just got my first Fuji, an X-T20, this weekend. Bought it used from eBay, just waiting for a new SD card and I’ll be shooting it all week. Looks to be a lot of helpful things here. Cheers, happy Sunday!

    Lens Reviews?

Hi Bruce. There aren't such a db with reviews on this forum, just some personal opinions, but very often quite valuable, so you may try search through the topicks. Hoever there are some great sites of professional fuji gear reviewers, so here you are a couple for a start: https://jonasraskphotography.com/ https://www.cameralabs.com/

  7. DaVinci Resolve has quite a bit of a learning curve (for me at least). I use it mainly for stabilizing videos. Try VSDC or HitFilms. Like DaVinci Resolve, the free versions have enough features available for most needs. VSDC is more fully featured. There's a small cost to upgrade to a "pro" version which enables hardware acceleration especially handy if you have video card that you can utilize for video-related tasks.

  8. Hi Ken, Have you considered trying Davinci Resolve? I have used it with 4K H.265 4:2:0 generated with an X-T3. Color grading tools are excellent. Works well on a Mac. But I know there is Windows version. You can download the very powerful freeware version 17 that has no time limits to see if it works for you. Don Barar

    Personal X-H1 Set Ups

Herewith my card with settings. I made cheat cards for the different cameras to be able to tell them apart. This one is for my X-H1 which I by the way rarely use anymore. I used the camera mostly for stills and esp. fashion portraits, so many settings are stills oriented. x-h1 settings.docx

    Turn off X-H1 Q button?

I agree - it's a crazy place to have put the Q button; I'm accidentally activating it all the time. The trouble is, I do use the Q screen quite often, so locking the button isn't an option for me. Here's hoping Fuji finds a more sensible location for it on the X-H2, when that eventually arrives!
