  1. Thanks Jerry, but still not so much. I keep my uploaded photos in D:\CameraUploads. I don't want to keep them under C:\Pictures (or whatever default it's using). I don't use OneDrive. I just want to get the photos from my camera to D:\CameraUploads\<date>\ which is exactly what MyFinePix used to do for me. Now I have to either futz with the different folder on the card and create the date folder myself for each upload. I am pretty frustrated with both Fuji (for not making legacy MyFinePix downloadable) and MS for not providing 'Photos' a simple way to change the default upload destination beyond C:\Pictures. I don't need or want a OneDrive cloud eco system. I have a special drive for unprocessed photos that I want to keep using. Not every picture is worthy of cloud storage, they need to get reviewed and processed. I guess I'll have to keep doing it manually.

I just enjoy taking pictures and trying to make them interesting. Hopefully you will enjoy looking at these images, all taken with my X-E3 (which I just love) or my newer GFX 50R (which I just love)
  3. I have a new computer and as such no longer have MyFinePix Studio that I used and really liked for transferring files. I would like to know how others are transferring images from camera to computer. This link, https://digitalcamera-support-en.fujifilm.com/digitalcameraengpcdetail?aid=000005058&p=a062w0000035yOdAAI&wd=image+transfer&_ga=2.62903276.1570090719.1676656395-1876888618.1676656395 talks about how to do it with Windows 10 but I have Windows 11. My old process was very simple, I'd connect the camera to the computer, start MyFinePix Studio and transfer the images to a well defined location (it would create the dated directory for me). Now it seems harder, either remove the sd card, find my card reader, create a directory for the images and copy them from the sd card OR camera with the card in. I would like to know what 'workflow' others are using and what suggestion people have for simplest possible transfer to well named directory. I know this might not be a big deal for others, but the loss of MyFinePix transfer is an annoyance I've not yet resolved.
  4. Hey what are good ways to clean the evf eye sensor on my GFX 50R (or any fuji model with eye sensor). It's very hard to get a lens cloth in there and there's not much room to work with. My camera is keeping the evf active even though I have it set to automatically switch between evf and lcd, I think due to the dust on the evf. Googling for an answer seems to only tell me how to clean the cameras sensor.
  5. Fuji support knew exactly what it was - I had a function button assigned for large indicators and I missed that setting. All set! 🙂 I set that function key (which I guess I'm hitting accidentally) to NONE.
  6. I find that often I have Large Indicators on, which I do not like because when I do, I don't have a visual reading for focus distance. I will turn Large Indicators off and later I will find them on again and need to turn them off once more. I have not found a pattern or cause for this. I would expect them to remain off since that is how I set them. Is there some mode or something that I might be using that turns them back on? Mostly I shoot in manual focus with focus key remapped from shutter to quick button, using single shot or focus/ae bracket.
  7. With the rise of the mushrooms this summer, I've been taking a lot of macro mushroom shots. To do this I have been mounting my camera inverted on my tripod (upside down and under) to get the camera really close to the ground. This works well for shot composition but the LCD does not rotate 180 so I have to use it upside down. I have AUTOROTATE turned on and noticed that it only rotates between landscape and portrait mode (90 degrees). Ideally the LCD (view and menus) would rotate 180 degrees so that when my camera is upside down I can still easily tip out the LCD and view it from above. Is this just a firmware adjustment? How can I get this suggestion in front of fuji?
  8. Ok I guess that explains it, although several of the gimbal heads advertise with pics of the camera mounted horizontal like this picuture included, and me having no experience with them did not know they were not adjustable for the camera width. I'm not a long lens guy. So, back to my question, can anyone recommend a 360 degree panohead for gfx 50r. This acratech one looks pretty sweet but it's pricey at over 400 bucks, maybe that's my only option. I did find this neewer one (with red knobs) but it does not seem allow a horizontal mount and I'm not sure it will be tight enough for the weight and size of the gfx. My goal is to shoot some horizontal 360 degree images, both regular pano and for HDRi and with the fold out LCD view screen horizontal works better than vertical.
  9. Hey guys, I picked up a panohead for use with my gfx 50r and quickly discovered that the camera is too wide. It sure looks like most of the panoheads I find on amazon don't have enough space and are not adjustable for the width of the gfx. In the attached image, the red arrows show where there is not enough room. I also have an L Bracket grip which really cements the camera to the tripod with 0 gravity loosening and gravity influence. I'd like my panohead to work well with that solid foundation. Can anyone recommend a good panohead for 360 photography using a gfx 50R, and at a reasonable price (or at any price). I'm not finding a lot of good options yet.
  10. Thanks everyone, very very helpful. I had looked for this a few years back and missed that the viewer might not show or know what's what. So I don't think nomacs or faststone know how to show it but it showed right up at https://greybeard.org.uk/exif3/
  11. For an x-e3 which attribute contains the shutter actuation count? This website tells me https://www.apotelyt.com/camera-exif/fujifilm-shutter-count a number but I cannot find that number in the Exif data. I am simply trying to verify the value by looking at the source, not necessarily trusting a website. thx in advanced.
  12. I picked up the 50r and love it ... the only things I don't like are minor. The biggest irritation: The USB port is on the bottom opposite the on/off switch. I find it cumbersome to set down, usb-c plug in and turn on. I can't set the camera on its base (because the cable is on the bottom) like I can with my x-e3. So now I let the edge of the base dangle over my computer case. That works but it took me a while to get there. The usb cover feels a bit cheap and the way it opens means I have to struggle a bit to get it out of the way to get the usb-c plugged in. Also it would be nice if I could switch the card access from usb transfer to raw convert mode without having to unplug the cable, but that issue is not specific to the gfx 50. One of the reasons I like it (besides all the obvious stuff) that I don't have to learn a whole new system after being really comfortable with my x-e3.
  13. Thanks, Herco - I suspected something like that. I have both FastStone and Nomacs image viewers and they show the image as I would expect. It's only Affinity Photo that has the issue, I'll contact them. Regarding Dynamic Range, it's one of the least used settings for me, I usually just use auto. However I generally shoot manual mode and like to control all the settings, with an understanding of what I am choosing and why. I see on the GFX 50R that when I lower iso to 320, dynamic range is reduced from 400 to 200 and I receive a warning, or yellow dynamic range icon. Can you (or anyone) either point me to an article or explain the choices involved in picking a dynamic range? Historically I tend to shoot landscapes with the lowest ISO possible, using a tripod. Are there merits to shooting landscapes with a higher iso, say 400 with a 400 dynamic range? If dynamic range is simply changing the exposure why do I even need it? I can already control the exposure. I think I generally understand the concept of dynamic range, but I am definitely lost when I hear that it just changes the exposure. What am I missing?
  14. I find when I look at my images on the camera (evf and lcd) and in Fast stone they look good. When I load them into Affinity Photo they are underexposed. This might be an Affinity Photo issue. Are you finding similar? I also have Dynamic Range set to 400, would that cause this? Maybe I need to check with Affinity Photo on their software and compatibility with Fuji RAF.
