Feature Envy?

What feature on other cameras would you really like Fuji to add to an X-series camera?

For me, the one stand out feature that another system has but the X-Series doesn't is Olympus's LiveTime feature. For long exposures at night, star light, light painting or when using a dense ND filter like a BigStopper, the Olympus LiveTime feature is just jaw droppingly good sense.

It's a feature that even though I have several Fuji x-series bodies, I had to go out and get my hands on an E-M5 mkII just to be able to have that capability available. I have no intention of swapping to Olympus for anything else, in my view Fuji nails it for me on every other front and I'm very much looking forward to loading my X-T1 with the version 4.0 firmware. But the Olympus LiveTime feature is something special and I really wish Fuji would have a chat with Olympus to be able to bring that feature to the X-Series range.

Nah, camera manufacturers don't act like childish smartphone makers. They tend to have a much more pragmatic approach to licencing their ideas rather than the winner takes all and I'm keeping all my toys behaviour of a certain major technology company.

Take a look at Anti-vibration lenses, face recognition, Live View on DLSRs, on-sensor cleaning, and a host of other features developed and exploited by one manufacturer for a while, then licenced out when the owner wanted to trade for features that another manufacturer had.

LiveTime is too good a feature not to have some of the manufacturers champing at the bit to licence the idea, the only question is how long to wait and what price will Olympus trade a licence for.

Take a look at Anti-vibration lenses, face recognition,

stabilization in lenses are done with different implementations.

If I had to guess, I'd say most versions of face recognition, Dynamic Range Increase are just software (and maybe even hardware) developed by a third party and sold to the manufacturers.

Anyway, that live Time feature is a nice to have (but for nearly all photos, you can "survive" without)

My wishes are a little more mundane - for all future camera an accessory rubber for the viewfinder and an adjustable/tilting rear screen. These are the two things missing from my X-E2 that I miss most from my NEX-7. Other than that a decent flash system would be nice :)
