X-T2 and Nissan i40 flashgun

Recommended Posts

I seem to recall reading somewhere that there is a firmware update for the i40 flashgun. What does the update do, is it only required for the X-T2 or maybe the X-T1 also, is it free of charge. Any answers to the above would be welcomed.

I've been in touch with the UK importers of Nissin flashguns and he tells me that they're expecting to be able to do the firmware upgrade in mid-June. It will allow the HSS function to work with Fujifilm cameras. The only cost involved will be the return shipping costs so they are not charging for the upgrade. I'll report back when I've had it done.

Coincidentally I had an email today to say that the HSS firmware for the i40 and i60 is available from today) in the U.K. at least). I just have to send it to them and pay the return shipping. The actual firmware update is free so mine is going off next week!

  • 2 weeks later...

I sent mine back to Kenro, the UK importers of Nissin on day 1. They did the upgrade on day 2 and shipped it back via DPD on day 2 so that it arrived as a timed delivery on day 3. Fantastic service and now I just have to test it out.

Quote from Nissin:

At this moment only the 5 following camera models have the HSS function - X-T1, X-T2, X-Pro2, X-T20 and GFX 50s. Camera models not shown do not support the HSS function.
