Hi...again

Recommended Posts

Hi from Seattle! I was a member on this site a couple years ago, but I guess due to inactivity, my account disappeared. Luckily, I was able to rejoin with the same username! :)

  • I joined when I got my Fuji x100s (first Fuji camera...came from Nikon dSLRs). I loved it. Unfortunately, it died an electrical death during a vacation last year. It took 5 seconds to think about focusing, and if it did manage to focus, I could press the shutter. Then after pressing/releasing the shutter, it took another 5 seconds to think about actually activating the shutter. It was a sad day/vacation.
  • I contemplated getting an x100T to replace it, but my brain told me to get an X-T10 instead to get the ability to change lenses. I did end up getting the X-T10 + 18-55 f2.8-4, the 27mm pancake lens and the 55-200 f3.5-4.8)
  • But I didn't have the connection to the X-T10 like I had with the x100s.
  • Earlier this year, I knew the x100f was coming out and purposely stayed away from reading anything about them. In fear of wanting to get one. :)
  • Last week, I was agonizing over what lenses to bring for my upcoming Hawaii vacation, and stumbled on reviews of the x100f....dang...game over.
  • Phoned my local camera shop on Thursday and they happened to have two silver x100f in stock! Put one on hold and went that afternoon to get myself a new x100f! (although, I did spend the Thursday night/Friday researching whether to get the x100f or the X-T20...and ended up deciding to open up the x100f and keep it on Saturday.)
  • I feel so much better being able to bring the x100f to Hawaii with me instead of having lens decision agony. So liberating!
