Fuji X T2 or Fuji X Pro2?

I'm sure many of you will have been through this question yourselves, but just wanted to get peoples advice on what I should do. I've been on a bit of a journey, but at this stage I've not yet purchased either of the above cameras. HOWEVER......... I have purchased a Fuji X lens, a wide angle 16mm f1.4 WR. I know this sounds like 'cart before the horse' but I was so impressed with reviews of this lens I knew I wanted to go down that route and thought I'd decide on the body later. Also the lens was on offer so wanted to get in quickly.

I've viewed so many You-Tube videos of the X T2 and the X Pro2 that I'm finding it difficult to make my mind up. Money no object I'd get both, but in the real world that's not an option. My last camera was a Lumix bridge camera with built in Leica zoom lens, which I'd owned many years. It took OK pictures but had a tiny viewfinder. This wasn't a problem then as I didn't wear glasses. Now and over the last few years I've needed glasses and was finding it difficult to use. Because of this issue I stopped using the camera. After seeing the reviews of more modern cameras, Leica Q and initially the Fuji X100F, (a great camera) and the Fuji X Pro2 it reawakened my love of photography. I ruled out the Leica and was going down the X Pro2 route when I discovered the X T2.

As I've mentioned I love both cameras and taking into account the recent firmware upgrades which camera do you think would be best for wearers of glasses. I don't take a lot of sport pictures but concentrate mainly on landscape, street and portrait. I know the Pro2 has the hybrid viewfinder and the T2 only the EVF but when I've tried both the T2 does seem to have the larger viewfinder. Also the lens did encroach into the field of view in the OVF on the Pro2 and that was without the lens hood.

The diopter adjustment on both cameras helped but meant taking my glasses off.

Please help!

I have both the X-Pro2 and X-T2, plus I also have the 16mm f1.4. So I feel qualified to answer your question. Much as I love the X-Pro2, for the 16mm I would always chose the X-T2. The widest lens that is supported by the OVF in the X-Pro2 is 18mm. And as you say, the 16mm is visible in the OVF. So you are left using the EVF, in which case get the X-T2. Both are great cameras, my choice of which one to use depends on the lens.

Thanks 'Mr.T' for your thoughts and 'milandro' for the links. I'm coming to the conclusion that the X T2 will be my best option, particularly regarding the viewfinder. After trying the X T2 the main reason for continuing to consider the X Pro2 was the retro look which I love.  :)

    • I'm having trouble finding a way to attach a right-angle viewfinder to the Fuji X-H1 camera. Does anyone have experience with how the angle viewfinder behaves in combination with the EVF? Is the Minolta frame diameter of the right angle viewfinder suitable for attaching to the Fuji XH1 (or XT1, 2, 3, 5)? Does anyone have knowledge about which eyepiece is compatible with the Fuji X system? Thank you in advance for any assistance and information you can provide.
    • I purchased a gently used XF 80mm f/2.8 aspherical macro for my X-T5. Not being familiar with this lens but having had experience with the Leica T mount 60mm macro and Canon and Zeiss macros, I was surprised that I felt what might be best described as a loose lens element that shifted when I tilted the lens, even before being mounted to the camera. In manual focus mode, the lens is fine, but there is a distinct “wobble” when the lens is in autofocus mode. I reported this to the company (I bought it from KEH), and they agreed this was odd and accepted it back for a full refund. I just got a replacement lens and the same thing is happening. I’ve never had an experience in which I feel a lens element loose inside the housing. Is this normal? Should I return it (again)?
    • Old post but hope this can help. You have to make sure that exp. comp. is set to zero in P, S or A mode before you go in to manual mode. If the comp is set to, let say +5, and this is of the range for the settings in manual mode, twisting the comp dial (left dial) want do any changes.
