HI

I have up graded to 5.01 on my x-t1 and if I set the iso to 200 and fix the aperture and leave the shutter speed on auto I get the following.

On the 35mm 1.4 the shutter speed stays at 70 regardless of aperture.

 

However on the 18-135 the shutter speed changes from 30 - 70 as you zoom from 18 to 135.

 

Is this correct? Or should I always just set the speed to 180?

does anyone know if the i40 still works ok and have we got HSS back which I lost in the last update.

when you zoom in you also reduce the amount of light (or increase it if you zoom out) because the f value is the ratio between pupil size and focal length, by changing the focal length you change the amount of light (also because you increase or decrease distance )

I just tried, nope, still no HSS unfortunately. I emailed Nissin and they replied that they are developing the HSS data for a new firmware which will be anounced on their website. You'd need to send it back for an upgrade though - no port on the i40 to do it yourself...
