Hello dear forum members,

 

To present myself, I have to say that I started photography in 2011 with a M4/3 APN (Panasonic GF3) and its kit zoom. I then fall in love with primes, and I shoot for years with a Panasonic 20mm 1.7 and with an Olympus 60mm 2.8 macro. Two very good ones! Two years ago I changed my body, and bought an Olympus E-M10 essentially to improve my macro capabilities (better iso performance and stabilized sensor).

 

I love to shoot nature (macro included), and also, sometimes, do portraits of my friends and family.

I, from my first picture to today, shot everything in RAW; Lightroom at the begining, and now DxO Optics pro which is more limited but better in my opinion in terms of image quality.

 

Then, what about Fuji? I'm fascinated with this brand since at least 2 years now. Outstanding iso performance, manual-control-oriented gear, with nice color rendition, and quality optics. What retained me was the difficulty to post-process Fuji RAW files.

 

But today, I have to admit that I'm somewhat tired with post-processing. It was very interessing at the begining, a lot of possibilities, a lot of things to discover and experiment, and also a huge gap in quality, comparing to my APN's jpeg files.

What retained me is what now attracts me: the high-acclaimed, excellent JPEG output of X-trans cameras.

 

What triggered my coming in this forum is the recent debate about Fuji Jpeg rendering. I am a daily reader of Fuji Rumors and I waited the Fuji X-T20 to go for it; but because of this debate, I wonder if I should not, depending of an hypothetical "loss of Jpeg magic", buy the X-T10 instead. But we will discuss it in an other thread!

 

By the way, I'm french, if it has any importance =)

      Because the sensor assembly is moved electrmagnetically. When there is no power it is essentially free moving.

      This is the equivalent of 43 minutes, 40 seconds of exposure. NGC 1502 is a neat little cluster located in the Camelopardalis Constellation. This region of space was thought to be fairly empty by early astronomers, but as you can see, there is a lot there. Kemble's Cascade (a.k.a. Kemble 1) is named for Father Lucian Kemble, a Canadian Franciscan friar who wrote about it to Walter Scott Houston, an author for the Sky And Telescope magazine. Houston named the asterism for Fr. Kemble and the name "stuck". NGC 1501 is the Oyster Nebula. A longer focal length telescope is needed to bring this one into good viewing range, but it is well worth the effort.       Looking for input; there are some decent deals and might want to take advantage to expand my lenses for my 100s already own: 110/2 32-64 35-70 100-200 + TC   Shooting mostly family shots, bringing my kit to capture family outings indoors and out. Tracking the 63/43 effective FLs on the two, but has anybody used both? Would the 55 (covered by two zooms right now) be redundant? Would the 80 be too similar in character to my 110 for portraiture?
