Card Slot

The SD card gets stuck in the slot. It should pop out with a light touch but I've had to jiggle mine for it to release. Inserting it not easy either. Has anyone experienced this issue? Or spoken with Fuji about it?

The type of camera is rather immaterial since several people have reported things like that on other fora affecting different Fuji cameras. It generally concerns a card that is stuck halfway in.

 

The Fuji (Canada) advise was to cut a small piece of paper from a playing card ( because they are thin and waxed, I suppose) and to insert it in the card slot on the side of the contacts, this should free the card catching and allow to slide out.

 

Probably this starts with a problem with your particular copy of the card, if it has been, even slightly, damaged or warped, it might be catching inside the slot. I have used three different cards, one a micro SD with adapter, in both my X-T1 and X-E2 and never had any problem.

 

One card that I had in the past and that I've used with a Canon had slightly split open, that one, I hypothesized, might have been giving problems sometime down the line, so I carefully (!) glued it and never had problems with it.

The camera is an X-T1. It has happened using cards from different makers: a PNY and a Lexar.

I’ve never had a problem with my X-T1 but the best answer to your problem is the one I gave above, extract that card using the method described, change card.
