XT1 Colors in Lightroom

Recommended Posts

Hi all. I am still trying to get a close match between XT1 jpeg files out of camera and raw files in lightroom. I am using the color profiles that was made available for Lightroom, but still can't get them close. Skin colours differ, and background information like skies are muted. Sharpening seems to be ok setting the detail slider to 100 like other people on the net has suggested. Any of you that found a close match? Or perhaps alternative software? Thanks!

I'm using AfterShotPro. Colors are off. I edit RAWs to get B&W anyway. Is it really a problem that the colors are a bit off the JPEG? If you are getting results that you want to get, isn't it the point?

Have you got your monitor color-calibrated using a spectophotometer of some sort or not? Are you comparing colors on prints or on monitor?

Hi,

I think your question as the answer: the word "match". Lightroom tries to match the camera color profiles. It's a match, done by comparing outputs. It's a little "guessy" although I think it does a nice job but not a perfect one. If you want to fully enjoy the color profiles from the camera you should either shoot in JPG or develop the raw in-camera, at least until fuji releases some (real) software the uses the same algorithms to create the color profiles. Until lightroom 4, color matching in lightroom was just awful, now it's way better but will never be perfect for closed file formats like canon's, fuji's, nikon's, etc.

BTW, does anyone feils like lightroom CC is way faster in rendering the fuji raws than it's previous version?

Ciao.

I use LR 5.x and the color profiles in there for my raw processing.  I find they come "closest" to the jpeg.  Even if they are a bit off, I can either leave it or adjust it manually.  I do believe LR has made some serious gains in the X file details, sharpening, etc so that I don't use Iridient Developer, or Silkypix much anymore.  The tradeoff is a much more efficient workflow for me at least.
