X-Pro 2 with XF 55-200 issue

Recommended Posts

When I use the rear command dial of the x-pro2 to set the aperture with the XF 55-200 nothing happens... Does anybody have the same issue ?

(The lens firmware is up to date and the rear command dial is ok to command the aperture with the XF 27mm pancake)

it is not on "A". I'm trained to use this lens with my X-T1, no issues until I use the lens on my X-PRO2.

If I recall correctly, you have to set the aperture to A and then you will be able to change it with the back dial.

sorry guys (darknj, DIS Ottawa), the 55-200 doesn't have an aperture ring and if you want to set your aperture manually it's not on the A position !

Did someone try the x-pro 2 with the 55-200 to answer me ?

The Fujinon 55-200 R LM DOES have an aperture ring, that's what the R stands for, it's just unmarked since it's a variable aperture zoom.

The ring is located right below the zoom range marking.

Oh and also the A switch.

Thank you darknj ! I should use this lens more often ! the XF 27mm is now an addiction to me (no aperture ring for this remarquable lens).

Watch out for consistency in your posts ;]

You either know how to use the lens, or you don't. If you don't know, that's fine we all have to start from somewhere. But writing that you know about the lens from your X-T1 and wondering how to use it on the X-Pro2 sounds awfully weird to me.

Anyway, glad to have helped out ! :D

I had the same issue when I first tried the 55-200 on my XP2, use the aperture control ring (nearest the lens mount) to change the aperture and it works fine.  It took me a while to get used to it as there are no visible apertures but once you have used it a couple of times it is fine.

I think it is purely the lack of visible apertures that causes confusion, the ring does have detents indicating aperture changes and is positive to change and move through the full range.

Odd but it works!
