RAW files from XT-10 won't open

Recommended Posts

I recently bought a Fuji XT-10.  The camera works fine except that if I shoot RAW I can't open the files when I've transferred them to my computer (I also have an X-Pro1 but there is no problem opening these RAW files after transfer).

My computer is a Mac running OS 10.10.1 (Yosemite) and I use Photoshop Elements 12 for editing. I have downloaded both the specific XT-10 drivers from the Mac and Adobe sites but the files still won't open in either Preview or PSE12 (as I said, no problem with the X-Pro files).  I have downloaded the latest version of Silkypix RAW converter and that won’t open the files either.  Trying to open files in the various software only produces an error message saying that the files/camera is unsupported.  No problem with JPEGS though.

I have Lightroom 5 running on a Windows 7 laptop (and downloaded the plug-in) and the RAF files won’t open on that either.  Fuji support hasn’t been particularly helpful.  Anyone else had this problem?  And do you have a solution?

I don’t have an X-T10 but an X-T1 so I am just thinking with you. I too have a Imac with Yosemite.

What you are describing is not normal otherwise we would have heard more of thins and we don’t. I tend to think this depends on something that you do or a setting that you have rather than being a system incompatibility.

If that is the case the Fuji support could have never been expected to help.

De card that you use in your X-T10 is the same one that you use in the X Pro 1?

Can’t you open the Raw files to at least see the content with the system program “ preview”?

Lightroom 5 does not recognize the raw files from X-T10. I have lightroom version 5.7 on windows 10 and it does not support the raf file. One work around I found online is to change the header on the raw file from X-T10 to X-T1. Lightroom 5.7 supports the raw files from X-T1. I use exiftool (http://www.sno.phy.queensu.ca/~phil/exiftool/) to change it and I created a batch file that I just double-click, it saves me from opening command prompt and typing the command as the tool does not have a gui.

I copy the exe and bat files in the folder containing the raw files and double click the batch file.

exiftool -Model="X-T1" *.RAF

Will convert all of the raf files and create an original copy.
